Thats Scottish not english

I know. The Celtic Fling was Scottish/Irish stuff. And i had always thought i was half Irish, but i found up, much to my own dismay, that I am actually half british, not Irish

Want a shovel to help dig that hole faster...???

Well, if we're doing Roots. On my mum's side, I'm descended from people who, in the 14th century, had a tower house about 5 miles south from where I now live but, depending on which generation you want to dip into are/were Scots/Irish/English/Welsh/Hungarian/Slavic/French oh, and American (we went over, tried it, didn't like the sun, came back ) and, on my Dad's side, am decended from a family that just 'appears' out of the woodwork about 5 miles north of here around 200 years ago but were probably Mediteranean Jewish leatherworkers, already.

Which basically means that y'all are probably my cousins in some degree

Oh, and being nominally Scottish, I don't tan, I'm naturally light blue.

Guinness...one beer to rule them all.

Iconic professions. Ok. Chewbacca was a Scout. How come that didn't stay?

When you think about it, aren't almost all of the original professions iconic? You can find something on each of them in the Expanded Universe.

I miss being a Ranger. It was more than a profession, it was a virtual way of life. It wasn't for everyone. But those who took it up became family.

No Guinness at the Celtic Fling though. The PA Ren. Faire has it's own Micro-Brewery, The Swashbuckler Brewing Company. So the only beer they serve there is from that company. They did have a wonderful Stout there. I forget the name, but was a very Pirate'y name. It had a hint of Coffee and Chocolate in it, and was quite good.

Well, I'd like to make an official apology to everyone from England whom I may have made fun of in the past, this includes you Owen.
I took my girlfriend to the PA Renassiance Faire on Saturday. They were having a Celtic Fling and Highland Games. Had a great time there. Lots of good music, Great beer, and great games. Saw people doing things like the Hammer Throw, and Caber Toss.
Well, there is this stand there that you can have your Surname looked up on a computer program, and it will display your family's coat of arms, and a history of your family.
I had gone through most of my life thinking i was half German, and half Irish.
Well, I was wrong. The Sites family (Sites being my last name) were a bunch of Tea-drinking, Krumpet-eating Wankers from England. Yes, there I said it, I am half German half British.
But if you brits think i will abandon my Irish-ness, you're wrong. You'll have to pry my pint of Guinness from my cold dead hands.

No way! I was there too. I was visiting 6 if my guildmates who live in Harrisburg, PA. Tartan Terrors rock btw! Woo!

Today is a great day to be British. Its the Royal Review today to mark the aniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar where incase all you Frenchies and Spanish out there didnt know, we kickedthe combined fleet of the French and Spanish armadas led by Napolian back into the stone age. Good olde Nelson.

Well, I'm from FL. Originally from KY. My fiancee and I made it a weekend and flew up to visit 6 people from my Guild and had a great time. Went to Hershey Park Friday and Celtic Fling Saturday. Loved eating at Klingers. Great food. Also, Neato Burrito. Yummm...

Wish I would have seen the booth you were talking bout for looking up your family history. Tho, I think I would have been a shoe in for being Irish since my last name is McElroy. Also, my family already traced my line back to 11 generations of us, what ship name we came over on and what year(1642 I think). Would have been nice to see the coat of arms tho.

Since we are on the topic of family history and such...German/Italian with some Polish thrown in. Northern Italy, so I have the blond hair blue eyes and yes, pale skin. But, on the up side, I can tan fairly well with some SPF 15 and a day at the beach playing volleyball. Just gotta make sure I get it aaaaalll even.

It is really spiffy, cus we have a town and a castle named after us in Germany. My dad discovered that when he did our geneology. Heck, I even have cousins who live over there. (I forget the name of the city, rather large trades city though, the name escapes me. And no, not Berlin, just to stop the Nazi jokes there. Although Hitler did have some good ideas imo.)

So, that is where I come from, and it kind of explains my quick, angry responses sometimes as well.

the blonde hair and blue eyes from norht italy would be an indicator of the celts who settled the Po valley, way back round bouts 250 BC. so...not purely Italic, but Celtic by way of italy. ...o.O im a nerd.
