There isn't really any clarifcation to be had on this news yet, since it can still be considered in the concept phase. There was a bit of a camp out tonight and this issue was under discussion. Just want to point out that items that are still in the concept phase don't always make it out, but just the fact that TH was able tohelp sway Q on an issue is a step in the right direction. Kudos to TH and his effort to fight the good fight for the community.

AFAIK calling pets indoors was removed just because people were p*ssed about all the rancorchus inside cantinas in the p0kewar time. It actually helped, you saw less pets indoors, but now we actually don't see *that* much pets around anymore, so they could reimplement again IMO.

Also I think you should be able to call a Droid everywhere and you don't even need all those restriction pointed out above for non-combat pets. No griefing possible anyway.

Frankly it dosn't much matter if you cannot summon a pet indoors as long as you can summon it outside your house no matter if your house is in a city or not. It would have been better to get some of the bugs that make this necessary fixed but I am sure not going to complain.

This is going to be a huge boost for our droids sales... well, maybe not since it's slated for the publish that involves the DE nerf...errr fix.

This is great! Lets hope this starts a trend toward them showing they actually listen to us. But it was also interesting to see how much "convincing" it took to get this fairly minor thing pushed through. Makes you wonder if more significant things we want are even possible, due to *serious* DEV stubborness. I for one am pleased with this, assuming it actually happens. I had to drop all Scout to get Politician, and it sucked not being able to call my vehicle while surveying in the boonies. I had to be "rescued" by a guildie a couple times with Scout skills, heheheheh. The only other solution to this problem woudl have been to make the most basic tent useable by any profession (ala stimA, and CDEF) and remove the ability to heal in that tent.

Jedi will never be a starting profession...Looted items and quest items will never be better then crafted items, this is not a loot based game...CH will return shortly...CH and BE will not be back in game...Rangers are getting their revamp next!...The stealth system will not be changing in the spy expertise...Need any more examples of things the devs said that did not hold true?

I dont quite get why calling pets in doors is bad (besides a rancor in the cantina).

Its the short-sightedness of the basic design of the game. Droid andCreatures are programmed alike, they are classed both as pets, so in essence they fall under the same rules - you allow droids to be called indoors and automatically you are allowing creatures the same ability.

Its something thats used to reduce the amount of coding required in a game and its something of a trend from Everquest - in everquest almost all player models use the same basic frame (human) you change one and it automatically impacts the others.

Droids and creatures need a new clarification, domestic and wild (or free-will). Those that are domesticated should be allowed indoors whenever they are needed, wild should only be able to be called outside. you could also add this clarification to vehicles, making all vehicles wild would prevent them form being called indoors.
