Thread: Droids: Where we were and where we’re going.
Thunderheart,
You mentioned something about Smuggler modules (Gambling and Slicing, I think). Any word on that? The Gambler-Casino idea was a very intersting one. I think everybody liked that, not only smugglers. Is that still on the "drawing board" ?

to all who whine about "Adv R3 will be the best combat droid because its the only who can hold 6 modules"
have you read
"Combat module will only mount in droids capable of combat. They can be placed in one of the general droid module slots that already exist on the droid chassis’, seen during the crafting of the droid."?
Who told you other droids as Probot and DZ70 will be able to hold combat-moduls?
Maybe 2 100% combat moduls in Probot will result in a CL10 combat droid and 6 combat moduls in one chassis is only reserved for future use if they bring in droid commander and higher combat droids (will result in a cl30 droid if it work additiv).
Well, because neither the DZ-70 or the Probot has 6 modules, and TH said that six modules is the maximum.
These notes deal with Publish 7 and Publish 8, not whatever future publish contains Droid Handler.
So until we actually get a detailed reply otherwise, I'm pretty sure that R2-with a blaster is where it's at right now. Otherwise, this is all absolutely a joke for Publish 7 - they are going to pull the function out of the Probot and Dz-70 and then put it back in?
It's not a whine to ask a question to make sure the topic is addressed - that way they can never say, "Oops, nobody thought of that".

He didn't say Merchant barking abilities did he? Goddammit, now coronet will have 35968234798023476897 droids parked out front of the starport spamming LIEK OMG UBER PETS STIMZ -1380 5830 GO THRER NOW PLZ OMG!
There had better be an ignore list for these type of droids.
But there are still some points that I don't really understand or I have to question ...
--------
- Combat Droids will have all the fighting functionality of a regular combat-capable creature (CL10)
- To have the strongest combat droid, six 100% combat modules must be used in constructing a droid.
--------
So to get a full CL10 combat droid you need six 100% combat modules? This means experimentation up to 100%? Is this possible (as I've heared about caps at 90% and have never crafted anything even near to 100% myself). So will there really be any CL10 droids out there? Won't they cost a lot more than CL10 pets you can just pick up from the wild or even get (enhanced?!) from a BE?
--------
- All players will now be able to have both a CL10 creature pet and a CL10 combat droid called out at the same time.
--------
Isn't this already leading to what you said would totally unbalance the combat system? Non-Combat players would leap to their double ability in one patch!
And can you at least also have 2 CL10 droids out at the same time (wouldn't be more powerful). I simply don't like pets for fighting ... will I be at a (considerable) disadvantage compared to players who "don't care" what is fighting for them?
--------
Entertainer module: Entertainers would get a certification so that only they could use this droid (no combat functionality is added so its different that the combat certs). This module would allow an entertainer to queue one of 10 different new effects (smoke, lighting, etc.)
--------
Well sounds nice, but will these "effects" really have any effect on the healing process of entertainers? Because at present the effects Entertainers can do (spotlight, flamejet, dazzle etc.) don't have any effect at all.
Also, please keep in mind that most entertainers don't really want to heal the "patients" faster ... they'd love to spend more time together with their audience and interact. That's what is behind this profession ... if anything Entertainers would like to attract more customers ... maybe by slightly enhancing the buffs given when using these "effects" of a droid!

Im having alot of trouble reading TH's Droid post, the first pagewont load for me at all and I really want to know what everyone is excited about. Can someone copy and paste TH's post *here* so i can read it? Would mean alot, thanks.
I already did that in the thread you started, GamerProX.
With these changes will we get new droid bodies to work with?
And I was starting to think I was the only one who didn't like/understand why the devs are doing that! TH makes a very big deal about NOT making the players more powerful, but now you will double the power of our pets? CL 10 may not be that strong but 2 CL10's have to be stronger than 1 CL 10. Isn't that effectively upping the CL limit to 20? I agree with DaQuilla, I like to do my own fighting, but this will move the game in the direction of "you must use pets to fight....."
