Thread: De How-to guide

I've read through most of the guides here and other places, but haven't see something I deem as very important. A how-to guide on building the various-purpose droids.

For example, How does one build a Survey Droid? Or a harvester droid? Or an entertainment droid? I've seen references to items needed from Master Artisans but only have a vague Idea of what they are. Along with this should be information on stackable modules. Does it help to stack multiple armor? Multiple Harvester? Multiple Building Maint? One could experiment and go through a lot of frustration, but it seems like the purpose of these guides is to prevent that. Right now they aren't helping me a great deal as a novice DE, unless I want to grind my way to master. I just want to make droids without wasting a lot of time and resources.

And where is the schematic for Survey droids?? I don't see it in the DE skill tree at all.

As a follow-up. I just made an advanced MSE with a crafting station module and a lvl 2 storage module. Oh boy, he can store two whole things. WOW! I'm suitably unimpressed with myself. Anyway, how does one use the crafting station function within the droid?? I see no relevant commands...

No command needed. Just summon it, then start crafting with the apropreate tool while standing nearby.

So that explains why I get thr experimentation options? I saw that once before but never knew why.

I really wish this stuff was documented in-game.

Ok so I guess I'll just ask all my questions here and compile my own guide when it's all over.

1) Does stacking Structure Maint Modules do increase the number of structures the droid can service?

My very sparse experimentation shows that it doesn't, but experimentation doesn't work that well for me yet. Two level 2 modules with a 1 rating eachstill only allows 3 structures... What's the "official" word?

2) Does anyone know if Structure maint droids will be given some real capability in the future? Paying mainteneance really is pointless without being able to deposit power and empty hoppers, and even report which harvesters aren't harvesting. A Struct maint droid doesn't even really save any legwork.

3) Where is the Survey Droid Schematic?? When do you get it? I've searched through the skill tree multiple times and don't see it.

4) What are the components needed from Master Artisans and what should one expect to pay for them?

5) Does the quality of the above MA items matter?

1) No idea.
2) About 2 weeks before the smuggler's revamp. That's about 2 days before hell freezes over...
3) Master Droid Engineer. Listed as Interplanatary Survey Droid
4) I beleive that this is the list...
Control Unit
Dual Wave Synthesizer
Electronics GP Module
Electronics Memory Module
Micro Sensor Suite
5) not a clue.

1. No, there is a hard cap at 9 structures. However, level 3 is the only level thay is interplanetary. They will not stack.

2. Yes they could be a little more usefull, but they don't want to make the gameto easy. These are actually very nice. I manage about 13 structures, that never move. I simply send out my maint droid every 2 weeks to top them all off. I never have toi worry about losing a factory or warehouse. Also very usefull for city managemnt as well, if you have a lot of city / guild structures.

3. At Master level.

4. EMM's, EGPs, Control units, Mocro Sensor sweets, and there are 2 others that I can't remember right now and I'm not in game. Those are the main ones though. As to price, probably about 3k a crate, but I don't ever buy mine,I make my own.

5. No, it doesn't matter.

Many of these questions can be answered by checking the links at the top, or browsing the first few pages of these forums.

Well, I wouldn't say 'most', since I looked and couldn't find them. Maybe they're too deeply buried or scattered. Anyway. Thanks for the answers.

That's not quite correct (off-by-one error).

Tk, are you saying that you can hit 10 structures?

I thought we determined a while ago that it was 9, or is it that if you hit 100% then you can get 10? Which if that is the case, then I was incorrect, and the cap is 10, but we will probably never see it.

People getting high 90's on exp are still only getting 13's on their Structure maint rating.

This doesn't make much sense, should cap at the max number of structures a player can have.

2. Yes they could be a little more usefull, but they don't want to make the gameto easy. These are actually very nice. I manage about 13 structures, that never move. Yes but you still have to go deposit power, and empty hoppers. If I'm already having to do that the droid becomes useless to me since paying maintenance at the same time doesn't take much longer. I don't see how this would be making the game too easy. The point is to make a droid useful. I was going to make some low-grade structure main droids and sell them, but after trying one, I wouldn't buy it.

3. At Master level.

How many per crate?

Thanks again for the replies!

Power wont make your Harvestor blow up, just stop working. When using a survey droid, the money is instantly deposited. Which could save a very pricey harv from blowing up. Harvs go through maint faster then power, so you end up having to do that more often, so you save a little time. I mostly do use mine though for structures that do not require power.

25 per crate.
