Agreed, I'm in the middle as far as pricing goes and I don't care one bit. If they don't like it go buy from someone else.

I'm pretty sure the lowest price DE on my server calls his shop Walmart. Now who would buy a droid from Walmart?!?

lol yeah being totally new to not only DE but crafting as well I'm still lost on what to sell things for. The arakyd and seeker droids were pretty easy to figure out. Except some wacko cases most were going for between about 15-25K for a crate of 5 up to about 30K max. So I'm going to sell mine at 20K for a 5 crate. Seems average and considering what went into making them I think that's a pretty good profit on a 5 unit crate. Figuring out the regular type of buy once and you've got it "forever" droid is going to be a bit harder though and prices are definitely all over the place on those for the same stuff. We're talking things like 50-100K for the exact same 6 FX R3 unit for entertainers.

If anyone from Bria wants to speak up with what they think are average pricesthere that'd be cool. Even something like "this much per chassis" and "this much per module going into it". I followed the suggestions in DE 101 when I made an astromech for a guildie and that would mean about 20K for it, 10K for chassis and 10K for module then I dropped a discount since it was a guildie. 20K or so seemed an average price anyway for a L3 astromech but I've seen L6's for 65K or more and that's the average for those.

I go with the DE recomendation for droids at 10K per chasi and 10K per modual, and I charge 100K for R3s, though to be fair, that may be too expensive for the R3s. My shop isnt on the map yet so I dont get much bisuness and my location I think is bad, but im too lazy to move. I have ben told by one customer im too expensive and he could get them cheeper, and I prety much told him to go to H E double hocky sticks. I sell my seekers for 15K a crate of 5 and 40K a crate of 25.

I'm not a BH, but from what I understand:

-Arakyd Droids give you the planet the mark is on

-Seekers give the waypoint to the mark on a planet

So it would take more seekers to find the mark than arakyds. You just need to find a planet once, maybe twice. But the mark could be moving on the planet, needing several seekers. Plus some of the lower level BH missions don't even require leaving the planet.

Oh, hmm...but still wouldn't it be more reasonable if the one use, or even two use, arakyds cost more since less is used as compared with the seekers which is used most and doesn't cost much to make? I dunno...I just fail to see why one costs more than the other when it should be the other way around.

Arakyds should cost more then Seekers, no reason for them not too.

I charge 3600 per Arakyd and 3000 per Seeker, thats droid not crate. They sell very well.

From what I've found out on my server that Arakyds go at 1k each. So if you have a crate of 25, then it's 25k. As for seekers, they are 5k each. I've still yet to figure this out since seekers require less stuff than Arakyds...so could someone fill me in on why that is?

Hmm...well Valcyn's backwards then...as I said, the average is about 1K per Arakyd and 5K per Seeker which I still don't see why that is.

I am proud to say I am the lowest priced Droid Engineer on my server. Some customers say that I am the lowest in the entire game, but I have not tried to check.

I have had comments that droids are an expensive extra that is not useful for the cost of purchase. My aim is to prove them wrong.

PS: Server on the left of this post is not were my DE lives.

I'm not sure why the Seekers would go for that much more. I usually see them priced at similar amounts. I sell each in crates of 5 for 20k. When you say they usually go for those prices, you're basing this on looking at multiple vendors, or did someone tell you this?

Seekers have 20 uses, and Arakyds 10, but BHs use seekers a lot more. I have a character that is a novice BH, and I usually use 2-3 seekers per NPC mark, but sometimes have used 5 or more. You only need one Arakyd per mark.

I think 1k per Arakyd is very low. There was a thread about this a while back with the word inflation in the subject line -- I thought some people were selling them for way too little then, and I'm even more convinced since then I've started to use the droids myself with my other character.

To put this in perspective, I followed the BH FAQ advice and piled up enough exp to buy both Investigation I and II at the same time. After I bought them I started using the droids. The marks at that level are about 15k a piece, and I had made roughly 120k by the time I went through almost one Arakyd and one Seeker. That's one of each droid, not a crate of each. I had bought them in crates of 5 for 10k, so it cost me 4k in droids to make 120k. I would certainly pay more for them if I had to at that rate of return, making roughly 600k by using a crate of each.

Now, someone who bought Investigation I right away when they qualified for it would have a tougher time, I guess you lose more droids. But I still think they could get by, you only need 5k more exp to hit Investigation II. Also, even the novice marks are 6k a piece, so they would most likely have some money in the bank.

I have seen people on Flurry sell both types in crates of 5 for 3750, I think that's just shooting yourself in the foot. Some people may not realize how much is actually made by the BHs who use them. I also saw someone selling ceates of 5 for 100k each on Intrepid, which just seemed way too high for me, especially when I could go down the road a bit and but them for 10k.

I'm also not sure why everyone somehow implicitly agreed to split them up into crates of 5. I think I'm going to start selling full crates of them at the same relative price. I know as a BH it's a pain to carry around 5 crates of 5 each, when you know you could have one crate of 25. And trust me, there are plenty of BHs around who can afford to throw down 100k at once for a crate of 25.

Yeah, vendor search. I looked up prices to see what I needed to aim for when I sell them. I do that with anything I make.
