Fellow DEs,

I'm glad to report that Q-3PO popped into the big thread in SWG Discussion and supplied us with the requested "official" apology about our weekend.

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Development&message.id=682634&view=by_date_ascending&page=17

In addition, the 'fix' for crafting/calling should be in with tomorrows update.

I believe we have a fix going in tomorrow for the crafting and calling bug. You Droid Engineers have had to suffer through some tough times. The Devs do not hate the profession and have plans to address some of the larger concerns. The communication flow should be getting better with the correspondent now that Thunderheart has started.

In the meantime, please accept my apology.

I dont wanna go off on a rant here, but . . . .

DOn't gimme this "have plans to address" crap. I dont need it! My 5 year old spouts a blow off better than that. THey been shafting us since BETA and expect that an apology and comment that was beaten out of them by the masses of NON DE's who want our **edit** fixed that it will placate us.

H3ll no it won't, that is bull **edit**!!! I want action, dammit. I demand it! If I ahda send a meal back to the kitchen in ANY restaraunt 4 times, I'd be spittin nails pipssed, like I am right now.

I would just love a job at SOE. Lie to ym customers, hang out and play games (maybe foosball too.) take long lunch trips to the drag or the Arboritum and get paid a **edit** load of cash to boot. If I treated my customers (internal and external) the way they are treating us (THEIR CUSTOMERS!!!!) I would last a fukkin week and I find it nauseating that laugh in our facce with this fukkin drivel!!!

Aye, good to see. Small steps, but some acknowledgement at least. Thanks Q, hopefully the rest will follow shortly, because a lot of use are getting tired of this one step forward, 10 steps back thing recently.

It takes a lot to swallow one's pride and post an apology on behalf of a company, for the whole community to see. I'm very upset with the situation, but I have a greater respect for Q-3PO now.

If I were the one who had to issue such an apology, you can be sure that behind the scenes I'd be reaming those responsible... and ENSURING that the fix goes in as promised and on time. Hopefully that's what is going on right now

Well, I am personally thrilled by his post. (Had to pick my jaw up off the floor and re-read it, then pick up my jaw again). He humbly offered the apology we requested. He informed us they are looking into the problem and gave an estimated time that a fix should be in tomorrow's patch. Those were what we asked for. Of course, we still need major fixings, revamps, but he pretty much said they are working on that too. Hopefully, we will start getting trickles of information through our beloved Sintrosi for discussion

I agree with your previous statement though. Words are cheap, what we need is action. Anyone can post an apology, especially when it's in a controlled and censored environment like these forums. However if we don't see some fixes and actions taken by the DEVs very soon, then all the apologies in the world aren't going to help.

I wouldn't under-estimate the importance of an apology. In the business world, making an apology means accepting reponsibility ... accepting responsibility means acknowledging the problem you are apologising for exists.

The fact that Q-3PO apologised means he was also apologising for the lack of communication between the devs and us, which he also mentioned in his apology.

In short, this was a very big step in opening the flood gates for Sintrosi. The fact is, now they have made the first apology they would not want to make a second ... and since they now know what we will ATLEAST do the next time something like this happens, it pretty much increases the likelyhood that they will put more effort into better communication in the future.

I'm not saying our problems will be fixed any faster than they would have been without that apology being made.. but what I AM saying is that Sintrosi should find it a little more easier to make contact with them, and thus make contact with us.

This is wonderful news. We have been heard and responded to. I am glad that Q made the appology and gave some estimate on the fix. I am hoping that this continues from here on out.

Apologies mean very little unless you trust the person/people who are saying it. For me trust is something that must be earned and quite frankly this DEV team has given us no reason to trust them when it comes to our profession.

For the good of our profession I hope the DEV team starts building up that trust and acknowledges us more in the future, but so far I'm really not convinced that the future holds a lot of hope.
