Thread: Decision time
There is more information out there than is on the boards, but us low life MDEs-since-the-startaren't priviliged enough to hear it. Too bad since it prevents people from making informed decisions about it.

I'm also very close to deciding whether to drop DE and go for commando, which I cant get master unless i drop some DE at least. I'm just waiting to hear some news about this "Droid Invasion" before i really decide to let it go

I know what you mean...I wish they would just come out and actually tell us what they are planning on specifically. With regard to possible droid changes, the Devs seem particularly tight-lipped about it, which I think is a mistake.
I don't get all the secrecy about what they are working on....so much for "communication". /sigh

Respectfully,
If you're sad at the prospect of dropping DE (and assuming you already haven't done this):
1. Try making lots of EGPM and EMM schematics as master artisan; use a stockpile of same materials.
2. Save those schematics in a droid's datapad.
3. Then drop Artisan to 4,x,x,x... Hopefully you can squeeze out some points there. Don't forget to find a master artisan and become fast friends for future schematics. ![]()
I have to warn youmatey. Once you make the commitment and start dropping skills, it's hard to stop. So far I've already gutted both artisan and Droid engineer in what seems to be a rollercoaster ride into a new profession. After a few skill boxes, the rest just don't seem to matter any more.
But my personal opinion is drop em all (as you need them though). Just keep a set of heavy duty harvesters in stock in the odd event you need to grind up again. I can also give you a DE grinding macro that gives over 4.2k xp per minute so getting DE (once you have the resources) is only a matter of hours / couple of days instead of weeks.
My personal opinion anyhow.
dropping skills is addictive.
if you set your title to master DE before you start dropping, you can keep that title for a while.
especially if you still have the inventory to sell, or plan on returning to the profession.

Time has come for me to decide to keep DE or drop it. I've been having a lot of fun just out hunting and killing pickets lately that crafting is just boring now. Especially DE.
I've sold about 350 droids in the last 3 weeks which is very good for a DE IMO. I still have about 350 left on my vendor, plus BH droids and accessories. All told, by the end of the week I'll have around 20 mil worth of droids and whatnot on my vendors.
I have been one of the most successful DEs from just reading these boards, and probably am the most successful DE on my server since probots got nerfed (there are a few names that I could name that may have done better). I have around 2000 droid components made right now, and I'm just at a loss of what to do with them. I honestly don't know.
I think these will be my final factory runs... 1 run of adv R3s with 110 med/10 stor/4 crafting stations/max armour and 1 last run of probe droids for my BH friends.
I just have to decide what to do.
Darn skill point limitations.
Here is something that you might want to consider. You can create upto 3 characters on TC. There is a bit of that newbie feeling that you get when ever you start an new character from scratch. I know that I have really enjoyed the ability to create 3 different characters and advanced each character in different skills. I currently have a Master DE/Architect/Artsian, a Master Medic/Novice Brawler/Novice Swordsmen, and a Novice Artisan/Armorsmith/Weaponsmith. Starting from scratch can be a pain at first, but with the lower prices on TC it is much easier to fully equip any alt for around 10-20k. You can usually find a few people that are willing to help you get on your feet, as long as you don't go around asking for credits or such.
The easiest way to get a strong footing on TC is to join the chat channel /TCPA and hang around in the different Player Cities. Since most people have 3 alts on TC, you will more than likely be able to find someone that has an alt with the skills you want to train. Now that you can /tell galaxy.name you can still keep in contant with any of your friends on any server. One down fall to playing on TC is the reduced number of people on-line; however the community seems to be a lot stronger on TC then on any other server I have been on. The second down fall, which relates to the first is that there are less people that need to purchase goods, but with the lowered prices in the economy you can typically get away with less sales. The best way to deal with this though is to always keep a well stocked vendor in one of the Player Cites or to post items on the more traveled Bazaar terminals. The Bazaar is a mostly untapped place to make a good profit, especially around 'patch time'.
Just my two cent suggestion.
