Thread: Any way to AFK recharge a droid?

Is there any way to AFK recharge a droid using a battery?
I've tired:
1.) putting the battery in the F-slots and using that.. but instead of using the battery, it examines it.
2.) using /ui action radialMenu;, however i can't figure out how to select the "2nd" option on the radial menu
3.) beating my head off my desk.. that didnt work either.
All help is appreciated.

I had given this some thought for some time. I have come up with 1 theoretical way, but it requires a second person. I say theoretical as I have not tested it. Perhaps I will here soon if I can. I'm assuming you're either doing a merchant barker or an auto-buff station (Doctor or Entertainer).
1) You and second person each have a Gonk (power droid, excuse me) with your selected function module(s).
2) Get your patrol points set (if applicable)
3) Target the other persons droid
4)Create a macro with a long delay set with /tellpet [recharge] every10-15minutes or so.
5) In macro, /tellpet [patrol] (if applicable) or other primary function (if applicable)
6) Cycle macro
If both people do this, your droids will never run out of charge and can continue to do their respective tasks while both of you are AFK.
While it's far from a perfect solution, it's worth a shot if you have a second acct ora friend that can do this with you.

I do have a 2nd accnt, but I'd rather play with it than have it sit in a house w/ my other account to recharge the droid....
The closest I've came to getting this to work is:
1.) Target the Droid
2.) /ui action radialMenu;
3.) Need a way to select option 2 from the radial menu.....

yea, I don't *think* there's a way to select a specific option, I could be wrong though...

Put your buff bot in a medical center.
There is a city specialization that give a bonus that is better than a droid, just choose the right place.

It's not *better* than the droid. The Medical Center specialization is equivalent to the droid bonus.
....and to my knowledge, there is no way to "afk recharge" a droid other than the power droid method outlined above with power droids and 2 accounts.

I am in a medical center.
Medical Center + Be Clothes = ~2200 Buffs
Medical Center + Be Clothes + Droid = ~2400 Buffs
Medical Center + Be Clothes + Droid + Bivoli = ~2600 Buffs...
Medical Center + Be Clothes + Droid = ~2400 Buffs
Medical Center + Be Clothes + Droid + Bivoli = ~2600 Buffs...
Its all about the droid recharging while AFK 
... 200 points on a Buff is quite a large amount to ignore and just say "ah just go to a med center"

We didn't just say "ah just go to a med center." The key is having the "medical center city specialization" in a player city which grants the same bonus as having the droid. This is often used on TestCenter because of the rarity of being able to find a Doctor that actually buffs the public.
Edit: to clarify, we arn't just talking about the building but the actual city specialization that the mayor of the outpost/town/city etc. sets.

This does work, I have tried it.

the medical center (hospital) DOES NOT give a bonus to doctors... so your statement is incorrect about buffing higher in a hospital than outside of one.

by "med center" .. i meant "med specialized city"... they provide the extra 10% bonus to make buffs go from 2400 to 2600.

I do believe that is how it works. our droid lvl 6 medical modules perform as if you were in a medical center, with the 10% city specialization bonus, to get 110%.
As has been repeatedly stated, there is no way to recharge your droid while AFK, other than the 2 person method already outlined.
I have seen solutions to this problem... if your trying to setup an AFK buffbot in a play city med center, your best bet is to add a line into the macro about "please recharge my droid to get the best buffs available".
I actually found one afkbuff bot that has a vendor full of power droids at 5K a pop, so ppl could buy the power droid, charge up the buffbot, and get a maximum buff.
