Great! More "concepts" that chase the secondary backwater markets. Just what we need. More casting of pearls before swine. And to top that off, made sticky by our completely biased droid correspondent.

Kollos, your full of it. Ive got post here on the forum that goes all the way back to the launch. That's how long I've been around. While your are rather recent. Your the noob that doesn't even realize that all your "suggestions" have already been rehased here on the forum abour 4 or 5 times. You haven't proposed anything new that hasn't been proposed by several generations of posters already. I personally have read their previous ideas and have read yours. There's nothing original in yours.

Bottom line, it will take the DEV's a great deal of work to implement your ideas which as I have said, aren't the original ideas you think they are. When they roll out these new features your proposing, it will take just about 2 weeks for these new products to saturate the market. Then the sales will go flat. The nature of utility droids is that people occassionally pop them out, do what the need them for in a few mins, the back to the datapad they go to gather dust for days until then new few mins the owner needs them. I just don't see the point of tying up the DEV's for months for what will be a two week return for the DE's. While well thought out in mechanics, placed in an economic context, your ideas are impractical. No matter how you slice and dice it, chasing such secondary markets isn't going to produce the sort of renewable business that Droid Engineering needs right now. Should these secondary markets get attention? Sure. But not while the primary market is totally busted and destroyed.

As to rest of you, go wipe your nose kids, run along, and play while those of us with some sense of reality attempt to get things fixed right.

Arden, you're such a n00b that you apparently don't even know what n00b means.

You obviously didn't even read the Concept Series. The preamble to each and every one of them states that they are not original ideas. I'm reposting them now because, in essence, the Devs asked us to. I'm also reposting them "in the interests of moving forward in a positive manner," which is something about which you truely haven't a clue.

You're a blight, Arden. Your attitude does more harm to the Droid Engineer profession than any constructive suggestion by anyone possibly could. Get a clue.

Kollos, after reading the same ideas about 4 times, its gotten a bit old. You want my exact start date. Fine, I date all the way back to the beginning of Beta 4. Back when all these mounds, power plants, and rocks that started showing up were (creature lairs). A long, long, long time before you ever showed up. I posted on the forums in the beta boards before they were retired and replaced with this site. Some of these ideas that you've recycled are so old, the figuratively are coated with dust and cobwebs.

Let me make a prediction. The previous arthors and their proposals faded and disappeared being largely ignored by the DEV's. Your ideas and you will fade and disappear also. And someone will come along and recycle them yet again and we'll go through all this a 5th time.

I didn't say you were a newbie, I said you were a n00b. They're different. Yes, you pre-date me by a little bit (don't let my forum registration date fool you), but that's irrelevant.

By the way, thank you for a calm and non-venomous post. I do understand your frustration and I agree with you that many of these ideas are crusty old skeletons. From a game design point of view, though, they're still quite good. It all depends on how they're implemented, if they get implemented at all. Whether or not the previous authors faded and disappeared doesn't change the fact that their ideas were good. They were just presented at an inopportune time.

You are 100% correct that if nothing else changes, these ideas will be no better than any others. The Devs have demonstrated that they are perfectly capable of creating poorly implemented droids. I choose to be optimistic about the results this time around, though, because of all the good things that we've seen come about for other professions recently. These ideas could be good if some thought is put into making them renewable. Some of them could be charged, some of them could deteriorate with use, etc, etc. Batteries weren't the proper answer - Weaponsmiths and Armorsmiths are successful and productive because their entire product deteriorates. We need a similar model for Droids to be a successful product as well.

I've watched combat droid proponents come and go regularly too, but that doesn't mean I assume that you're going to disappear. And even if you did disappear, your idea(s) would not. I'm not going anywhere any time soon, but even if I did my ideas would still be around and someone else would take up the cause. After all, this is the 4th time it has already happened according to you, isn't it?

Looks like a new Yellow name that popped up around the 10th of the month. You have to watch out for those Admin people. They are sneaky and like to abuse their power. Why just the other day

Sorry Virrago, I couldn't resist the joke. Good to see another Admin keeping an eye on things, keeping the peace, and passing on info to the DEVs.
