Just a general Question but I seem to get a Crit Fail on experimenting rather frequantly(like everyone it seems to come in batchs) but I was wondering sence becoming master when was the last time you accually "Faild" and experiment or even had just a "success" not Great or Amazing. just curous. Because I would asume that making a little mistake would be more likly then a Major one at master(not that I am advocating more Falures mind you personally 3 to 1 Crit. Fails to there opisite Amazing success is just wrong). I mean it takes 2 amazings to over come on Crit Fail

I almost always see Greats and Amazings and not too many of anything else....but they do happen.

I had a success today. It lowered the % some
edit: and they're not often.. I use a 15.00 crafting tool at 100% and a 45.00FR crafting station.... and on big items (final crafts) I use pyollian cake and bespin port, oh and I craft in a Research Center

Yesterday.
I only have 14.93 tool, and I fail about every single day I craft something.
Sometimes it worst when I wear my assembly clothes.

Shame on you! You should be using a droid with a crafting station module not a private crafting station! Go home and feel ashamed. ASHAMED.
Seriously though, a nice (and very attractive woot!) tailor friend of mine gave me one of those DE crafting belts with 4 slots so I slapped 4 DE experimentation tapes into it. I now have about an extra 120 on most of the DE stats while wearing the belt so I vary rarely get any problems with experimenting and even overal crit failures seemed to be reduced while wearing the belt. An example would be:
While crafting 6 combat modules (without the belt) I would average atleast 1 critical failure and atleast 2 experiment failures (using 900+ copper). However, while crafting it WITH the belt I average NO criticial failures and only 1 experiment failure.
Whether this is a coincidinc (i love that word) cus I too have my doubts about whether the belt even works... well hey I didn't pay for it so

I though skill tapes of the same kind didn't stack on the smale clothes????
Meaning 4 DE experiment on the belt = only the highest is used.
OR they fixed that?

Last night I crafted for about an hour and a half and had2-3 crit fails while experimenting and one crit fail during assembly of a module.
Most of the time I get good to great successes and the occasional amazing success. I definately have way more successes than failures.
I use a 13.?? crafting tool and a 44.96 private crafting station. No skill tapes. I just got a droidsmith belt but havent used it yet.

why would i use a droid crafting station when we finally know that they dont do anything?
on another note, I actually got an exceptional success last friday on a creature harvest module.... it came out at 95% (19) instead of 86, but in the excitement I clicked create prototype instead of schematic... oh well

I don't know what I use, but I rarely have failures in my house, but I failed constantly in my vendor tent, it could have something to do with the crafting stations, it could have to do with the house being in a player city. Doesn't really matter to me. They both sell, eventually.
On a side note I still occassionally make 17 rated Harvestor modules after a Failure (when level 17 is the highest I can make). To bad I don't have any skill tapes they might have turned out to be perfect 20s. meh

You're in a "droid engineer" forum and "droid engineers" make "droid crafting stations" as aposed to "architects" that make "private crafting stations". To say you'd use a private crafting station over a droid on the droid forums is sacralidge! Burn that man! Burn him I say!

Im also an architect.... and an artisan, which incidentally is what type of experimentation crafting stations use... go figure =P
edit: i use one of my crafting droids to make schematics when im near my factories and the experimentation isnt important...

Does the Pyollian Cake for Assembly and Bespin Port for Experimentation seem to help? I can max out the experimentation boxes most of the time, so would the initial assembly roll boost give you a better benefit?
I haven't tried either of the foods while crafting yet. Never noticed it on any Chef vendors. Guess I'll have to track down a non-holo grinding Chef to see if they can make some.
My player city used to be a Research Center, so I was happy to craft in town back then. Not too happy with them since then. They switched to a Job Market for more money from missions for the last couple of months...

Was it an exceptional success or an amazing success at assembly ? Words are important since I am still trying to get this to work for me without success. I don't think I have ever seen an exceptional success on assembly. Get lots of amazing assemblies, but nothing ever changes on my %.
Oh, and I have 143 assembly skill and 129 experimentation when using food. My tools are 14.22 I think and my craft station is 42.85. I still get the critical failures from time to time, but they seem to be a lot lower now that I wear my DE zoot suit all the time.
