Well, they've put the third part of the story arc in today, but no patch notes....so i guess no January publish yet. I'll spot them 8 more days before I freak out

First off....

Where'd you get that quote?

My comment is:

The recent craziness surrounding what we are (or are not) "very clear" on obviously affected the timetable. It shouldn't surprise any of us that this didn't come to pass.

Once again, it seems that an inability to adequately and carefully pay attention to what we were saying has led to yet another promised timetable that fell short.

I'm starting to get less and less surprised by this.

If we're the "Main feature" for the January publish, then everyone else is going to be VERY pissed, I can assure you.

Has everyone seen the list of what's coming for us in the next publish?

If not, just save yourself time and start crying, ranting, surrendering or cancelling now.

I disagree. What hurts most for me is implementing something that is broken from the start and then nerfing it by taking it away.

Do you have the linked source for that quote? I remember it, but want to read it in its full glory again. Would be kinda fun (though spiteful) for all the MDEs to make this our signature in protest for a few weeks.

Just remember, if it relates to a timetable and TH said it, it was written on an Etch-a-Sketch ... if Q3PO said it, it was written with a pencil ...

Everything they ever say about when something will go to the Live servers is when they hope it will go there if nothing unforeseen happens... and since they fail to foresee a whole lot of stuff, it usually means the earliest it could possibly happen in an ideal universe is _______, but don't bet on it.

Either way it doesn't seem to be a time issue for me finishing up my hologrind before heading back to DE. Here I was worriedI would drop some of the prof and end up losing out on all the changes thatI have been waiting for since a few days after launch.

Kzin,

No, it was JustG, AKA (I think) Gary Gattis, Senior Producer of SWG:

http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony.com/team_comments.jsp?id=59306&page=Team%20Comments

I actually like JustG a lot, seems like a nice guy. I really hope we at a very minimum get some sort of apology. But as the last poster said, heck, now is a good time to do the holo grind. Sounds like you have at least 6 months before you need to worry about crafting really new stuff (aside from making a CL 10 combat protocol droid). Seems all things droids are delayed. The droid fixes the BH have been hoping for with Jedi hunting aren't going to be for 2 publishes now.

I think I have a new motto: "Droid Engineering, less broken than Squad Leader"

Scene: Bridge of the USS Enterprise

Cast: The Original Crew of the Star Trek series, circa 1969. Spock as science officer at his workstation, Chekov navigating, Sulu at the Helm, Uhura at communications, Captain Kirk in the captain's chair, and Dr. McCoy right behind him. Assorted red-shirts at other various stations.

(Focus in on main viewer... the usual scene of stars zipping by...)

(Voiceover, Capt. Kirk): "Captain's log, supplemental. While on a routine patrol through the Theta Orion 5 system, we receiveda strange radio communication from an alien planet. Records indicate that this system is devoid of sentient life but with reports of Klingons in the area, I've decided to investigate the onlyplanetin the system, a desolate, wasted planet."

Captain Kirk: Standard orbit Mr. Sulu.

Sulu: Aye aye Captain.

Captain Kirk (swiveling in his chair): Spock, lifesigns?

Spock (peering into his scanner, blue glow lighting up his eyes): There are faint life signs coming from a small location in the northern hemisphere. They might be sub-humanoid.

Uhura (interrupting, hand touching her communications earpiece): Captain, we're receiveing a signal!

Captain Kirk: On audio...

Audio:

"I will tell you this, Droids (and DE's) are going to be the MAIN feature for the January publish. We will be fixing alot of things and adding combat droids."

Captain Kirk: Spock...?

Spock: Analyzing... (pauses) It appears to be a verycrude form of communication, apparently from a primitive race of subhumanoid beings that once inhabited this planet. Captain, from further analysis, it appears that this planetharbored aonce a thriving people called the SOElians, with promising technology and great aspirations. They apparently self destructed into a chaotic mass of lies, ineptitude, and failure. I'm analyzing further...

Dr. McCoy: They sound like gibbering hyenas to me.

Captain Kirk: Are they dangerous?

Spock: I'm detecting a small communications array on the planet capable of launching attacks known as "patches" toward us. Further computer analysis shows that this form of weapon has the ability to wreak havoc on shipwide systems, make life support systems inoperable, and make you warp 10 feet after sitting in your captain's chair.

Captain Kirk: (Seriously shocked and alarmed) Red alert! Shields up! Ready Photon Torpedos!

(The familiar klaxxon alarm of 'Red Alert' sounds, Sulu quickly prepares the ship for battle)

Dr. McCoy: Jim, why don't we launch a warning buoy and just quarantine this planet?

Spock: Captain, the threat to the Federation is greater than we had imagined. If they happened to take control of this ship, they would have access to space... something they just haven't been able to develop on their own. Additionally, the universe might cease to exist, from 4am to 6am solar time, every day, and at random times throughout the day.

Captain Kirk: We can't let this threat exist, Sulu... Target their installation. Fire at will!!

Sulu: Firing phasers!!
