I made an R2 tonight for an experienced droid user. I used a chassis that I made before last week's upgrade. There were two main problems with the droid, and these problems are serious:

1) The trim color could be set, but I could NOT set the frame color, even after trying about 10 times. It kept coming up random, when the user would pull it from the pad.

2) The droid would not accept programmed commands, and did not obey its new master.

***Beware! Old chassis can't be used in new droids.

I hope not !!!

I got 15 chassis in my store room. Using them to decorate because it's bugged would really really piss me off !

I think the problem affects the same droids that had problems this last weekend: The r2, r3, r4, r5, mouse droid,and power droid.

If you were trying to color the chassis white, try using the white that is mid way through the color chart. I had the same proble with using the white in the top left corner. Wasn't until the 3 time that I tried using the other white, that I got the color to stick. I wonder if that first white is even an actual color. I'll try to test it out later this morning, since I have a number of R2 frames from post and pre-patch.

If some one out there wants to help test this one out, but you don't think that you have any prebuilt chassis, don't forget that you may have a diplay model still sitting around that is a pre-patch build. Just an idea..

Maybe the 1st white is borked, but I have SUCCESSFULLY colored several droids with it, albeit, not on the first attempt.

Good idea though, to try another color on the frame for my customer. I'll find out today if he ever got the thing programmed. If not, I'm making a new droid for him.

Coloring on the R's in general is wacky from what I can see. I had a great time with a friend of mine, having him store is R2, then call it and store it repeatedly. Everytime it was called, it had a completely different color scheme. It never once came out the plain primer colors.

I made a brand new R2 from scratch yesterday, and the color issue showed up so it isn't the old chassis doing that. The programming part I haven't seen.

As for using old chassis, that still works. I made a probot yesterday usinga pre-Oct8 chassisand it worked just fine.

My guess on the programming issue is this, I have many customers do this.

They select program/stay then saystay, then expect it to do it without saying it again. Educate them that the first time they say the command they are just telling the droid what to respond to, and not actually commanding the droid at that time.

I guess I'll have to destroy all my MSE and Power Droid Chassis.

Can't be, I built a 2-1B today with a old chasis. Could this just be another bug with the R-series droids?

I earlier post has been confirmed by more than one source. The first white box in the upper left hand corner is bugged. If you use any other color box for the chassis color, you will not have any problems coloring any of the droids.

But the chassis in question are not the Probot chassis. I believe this problem, (and it needs to be confirmed), applies to the droids that we're having color problems with -- namely, the R2, R3, R4, R5, Mouse, and Power Droids.
