I am just about to wrap up 5 weeks worth of work
I have had 5 factories going nearly non-stop for the past 5 weeks. The final count will be justover 1400 droids. Based on my droid sales over 6 weeks prior to this mass manufacturing run I have made the following types in these numbers.
Probot Pure Combat Rating 530 - 125
Probot Trapper/Combat - 20
Probot Tanker - 5 Auto Repair mods - 50
R3 Pure Combat Rating 600 - 125
R3 Tanker - 5 Auto Heal 1 Combat - 100
R3 Harvester -107 Rating - 100
R3 Stimbot - 6 Stim Dispensors - 30
R3 Stimbot -3 Dispensors 1 Med Mod 1 Crafting Station 1 Item Storage- 25
R3 Entertainer - All 6 Modules - 50
R3 Entertainer - 3 Playback 3 Effects - 50
R2 Medical Unit - 1 Med Mod 1 Crafting Stions 1 Item Storage - 75
R2 Crafters Units - 4 Crafting Stations 1 Item Storage - 100
Protocol Merchant - 1 Barker Mod 1 Item Storage - 100
Protocol Storage Until - 1 Item Storage 1 Data Storage - 50
LE Repair Pure Combat - Rating 318 - 30
LE Tankers - 2 Auto Repair 1 Combat - 30
R4 Med Unit - 1 Med Mod 1 Crafting Station 1 Item Storage - 100
R4 Merchant - 1 Barker Mod 1 Item Storage - 50
Surgical - 1 Med Mod 1 Crafting station - 125
Treadwell - 1 Maintenance Mod 1 Item Storage - 100
I did this basically to pass some time before the Jedi Re-Vamp, and when it finally hits I won't have to make droids for a LONG time.
Has anyone else built droids to this volume before? If so, were you successful in selling most of them?
Thoughts, idea's, flames for being "dumb"...all welcome

WOW congrats for that massive undertaking. I would guess that we will be hearing from Audio_Organa soon on this.........

I dunno if this counts or not, but I usually make Seeker Droids in batches of 1000

Very Nice, I do runs generally around 20-50, because I've gotten burned on mass runs before with changes/patches.
It'll certainly help not to have to restock for a while!

While I too make my Seekers and Arakyds in 1000 unit runs, I've been keeping my other runs to 100. I admit I get caught short once in a while of a particular model that suddenly sells out, but I try to ameliorate that by keeping 20 out of the vendor on the initial load, and starting a new run when I offer that last batch up for sale.
I've recently given up MA, so I buy my GP's and EMM's from a buddy, and it actually helps my component management problem.
Man I wish we had some kind of storage facility other than 150 slot houses to use.

Yeah, a 'warehouse' building that had an interface to sort/view/manage the contents would be great. Even better if you could connect a factory/factories to it and put things to hopper that way.

I agree....storage is a HUGE problem. Especially since droids are in crates of 5. The only solution I have found other than wasting precious lots on storage houses is to have a vendor set up. I keep all my extra droid stock and components there. The only problem with that is every 30 days they go into the inventory stage and you have to spend hours re-stocking that storage vendor. Other than that it works out fairly well.

How do you make seekers and arakyd's in 1000 unit factory runs?
A 1000seeker (or arakyd) factory run will require 2000 gp modules (3000 for an arakyd). Since the gp modules have to be identical for a single run, that means that the most you can make from one batch is 499 seekers, or 332 arakyds (taking into account the waste from creating the schematic).
Is there some trick to making a factory produce more than 1000 identical gp modules?

You can't. I was scratchin my head at the same claim. I think it's boasting out of control.

You can use 3 different types of factory runs of GP modules. One for each socket in the schematic, I believe.

Yes, 3 different GP modules is Exactly how you do it. Although I can only get builds of 999 because I have to use one of each component to build schematic.

While I mass-produce the BH droids, I tend to hand craft droids themselves to order, having at most 10 of the good sellers on my vendor. I do, however, mass-prod the heck out of the components, such as combat harnesses, brains, etc. I have whole warehouses dedicated to factory crates...*sigh* sure would like to see medium houses mean something.....
