I would not matter even if the Profession was working perfectly.

On the old boards Holo made it perfectly clear how little respect he had forpeople who choose to becrafters. If you are not a combat character you do not have a chance in Hell of opening up a FS slot.

Well thats stupid if he has no respect for crafters, just because hes prolly some egomaniac who goes around spamming KD, and has 15 Rancors/Grauls in his datapad he switches between, doesnt mean us hard working crafters should be FU*KED because hes an As$.

And if that info is false, well then how do you explain that CH has 90% of the glory, and 90% of content is Combat oriented?

I'm not worried.. in a few years there will be an exapnsion that will allow anyone to be a jedi and they will be nerfed too..

well it is Star WARS and not Star CRAFT

I'm not worried I would like to be FS but don't expect it.. i could play it well.. (i'm more of a cross between Yoda and Obiwan then a Mace or a Luke.. a thought full jedi then a battle jedi)

Worse case scenrio I give up DE, become a Fencer/TKA/Medic and become a ForceLess jedi knight.. uphold the the traditions without the power.. there were some of those if i recall.

That doesn't really make a lot of sense in a game which puts such an emphasis on the crafting system. I wish the old boards were archived so you could point to what you're talking about here.

I am, however, disappointed that there's so much game I will never be able to experience simply because I chose a crafting route, and I don't mean just going to Endor. I'd like to participate in the story arcs, but with my two boxes of pistol skill for self-defense it's just not going to happen. Plenty of noncombatants are also involved in the GCW, and the game currently doesn't really allow us to live that out in SWG. At the very least, there should be factional versions of the crafting/survey/entertainment/exploration missions. There should also be some way for us to participate in the stories without becoming stone cold killdroids.

For that matter, why is there no good "stealth" alternative? I love playing stealthy characters, but my ability to do that in SWG is very limited. I'd love to be able to sneak my covert butt into one of those random base spawns and cautiously slice one of those story discs out of the base's computer. That kind of gameplay is way more fun to me than shooting things and looting their corpses, especially when I'll have to slaughter a HUNDRED random gang members to get a single disc.

Since nobody knows how to open the FS slot, it's kind of hard to say if pure crafters will be able to qualify or not. It would kind of suck from a philosophical standpoint if, in order to get in touch with the Force, one had to focus exclusively on becoming a bad mofo in combat. It wouldn't make a lot of sense.

Through popular conspiracy beliefs, accomplishing missions yield 1 point ofOneMillion!towards the force-sensative "slot" per difficulty level. Anything that directly points towards the ability to accumulate said points by intent, or by exploit (reference data-droids containing 100+ destroy missions at a time) will be promptly dealt with. As for other exploits which by game "society" means (ie, massive resource duplication) - these were lesser priority, because resources are expendable. Therefor, the Droid Engineer profession was indirectly affected by the ability to obtain a force-sensative slot.

How this relates, well - if you were fortunate to have been on the band-wagon early-on and accomplished 20k difficulty 10 missions in that 2-week time period, you're that much closer to unlocking a FS slot.

How can any crafter hope to open an FS slot? Easiest way - GROUP with all the other crafters you can find. If the concept holds true - 1fs point / 5minutes / group member... With hundreds of hours spent crafting, that adds up to alot of Force-Sensative points.

For reference, data droids were never able to hold 100+ missions of any kind. The droids could hold ten missions, and you could hold your two, and that was it. Twelve. It was also very limited in that if you stored the droid, your missions were hosed, droids at the time couldn't follow worth crap, and you could only take local missions because traveling stored the droid.

For reasons like that many of us questioned whether it was even realistic to consider it an exploit. Yeah, it was an exploit, but it was a DE exploit, which means it didn't really work all that well. In many ways it was less hassle to just do the missions the regular way.

Im not going to worry about the force sensative slot as a DE. Im just going to get a cheap sword, and a cloak and make believe im a Jedi. At least I wont have to worry about perma-death this way

The droid would hold 10, yes. But your data-pad would hold any number - and well over 100.

Store 10 on the droid, pick it up. Call the droid, store 10 more. Repeat til bored. Log out 8 minutes, then come back and you'd have all those mission waypoints on your data-pad.

Meant to add - THAT, was the exploit. Not the fact you could store 10, 'cause if they were left on the droid you had to stand still to open the droid and pull the missions off of it - and again, 2 at a time. THAT, was likely the intended purpose, until it was realized as to how many missions were drawn in this manner.

According to Star Wars history it is believe everyone has some bit of The Force within them. It is the young that have potential that are cultivated in the advanced ways of The Force that become Jedi. So in essence SOE is sort of going with a willy nillyapproach with the unlock schemefortheidea of how the Star Wars Universe views Force Sensativity.

So yes even thatlowly droid engineer, given the right training, should be able to be a Jedi.

Grouping with others is probably the key. Trying to unlock the FS slot as any crafting class going solo will probably take much, much longer!

Since Jedis and DEs are mentioned in the same topic, consider this...

My question is, considering how (in)complete and buggy the DE profession is, how well is the Jedi profession implemented?
