Demand is about to go up folks. Nobody in their right mind will use a level 10 pet over a probot with medium 40% once this change goes in.

Premature question. Patience. Wait and see how this actually pans out in-game before you start counting your credits. There is a big difference between proposed changes and what will actually go live.

You don't think those changes are going to go live?

Read it again. That's an edict, not a request for feedback.

The skill tree is completely different. This is as good as done to the CH profession. Minor tweaks only.

Also, I'm not raising my prices, just wondering if anyone will.

It might be months before those changes go live. Expect a lot of bugs, they're practically rewriting CH.

And then you've got to see what our changes will be, as well, Probots might become non-combat with the new DE stuff, ya never know...

biggest difference between a droid and a pet is that you can heal the pet

I don't see any reason to gouge the folks just because demand goes up. Heck, when I hit Master DE and started working out prices, I was surprised to find that droids could be made for much cheaper than they were being sold for and still make a good profit.

I'm going to continue to keep my prices as low as reasonable (while still keeping a modest profit margine), since I don't believe that charging high prices will be good for the economy in the long run. Why spend 20-30k on a droid, even if it's a CL 16 probot, when you can spend 2-3k on a CL 10 pet and replace it 10 times over for the same price?

supply and demand

If I have a hard time keeping my vendor stocked with the time I play and can't do anything but craft, yes my prices will go up, only 2.5k at a time though. until I'm not just making probots everytime I log on.

When I couldn't keep up with demand by putting probots together by hand, I just did a batch of them in the factory. Took care of the immediate demand...and the remainder of the run has been selling regularly.

Now if I could only finish up the run of surgical droids, I'd be set for a while.

Exactly! Supply and Demand. When my prices are set too low, my business wratches up to the point where I'm working too much. I need to keep demand curtailed so I can have fun looking for my holocron.

Having said that, I can't imagine that demand will skyrocket for probots, when creatures are selling so much cheaper.

If it ends up being useful (The plan that is). Driods will actually be going down in price. Look at wepsmithing, everone and his brother has either an alt or a guildmate where they get them for nothing. CH also, why buy a pet when you have the few extra SP you need to get one yourself. If its an attractive plan, the 20 active DEs per server will increase by 10 and droids will fall in price.

I don't think we're going to see more DEs...there's certainly not enough incentive in this "plan" to make someone put up with Mastering Artisan and grinding to Master DE that wouldn't do so otherwise.

At any rate, I probably will not be raising my prices much. I make more money from surgical droids, BLLs (believe it or not) and Protocol droids than I do by selling probots. Unless I start getting offers that are significantly above my normal prices, I don't forsee a large increase, since the cost for making them isn't increasing.

Raise them? You should lower them since only DEs will be able to use them in combat...
