I heard that if i wanted to give my Droids good armor that I should go to an armorsmith and get armor segments from them. Is this true? If not please let me know. thanks

you need Composite Armor Segement from an Armorsmith as a subcomponent for Level 5 and 6 Droid Armor modules. But the current max for a droid is 40% resist all, so you can accomplish the same thing with two Level 4 Droid Armor modules, which a Droid Engineer can make.

But it might be time to team up with your favorite Armorsmith for eventual Battle Droids...

You don't really need to go up Armorsmith. I know an AS and I just buy the segments that they fail there expirmentaion on. Most people look at the values and if they don't think they can make anUberComposite Armor, then whats the point no one will buy it. For us it doesn't matter what value the Segment has, it will always come out to Medium and 40% resist. So I just buy the parts from the armorsmith that they don't think will make the Uber Armor that will sell. They usually sell it for cheap, becuasefor them its fecal matter

I had an armorsmith friend of mine whip up a few hundred segments from grinding-class material. It's more than good enough for my purposes, and it didn't cost a lot.

Taking a well-deserved vacation from his successful Droid Engineering business, Master Rho can be found puttering around the galaxy.

I was always under the impression level 5 and level 6 droid armor modules where heavy armor not medium.

ive never had a requestfor them yet so havent tried it out myself.

We are capped at Medium armour with 40% resists across the board.

A level 6 module provides medium armor, 40% resists to everything.

BTW, there are a few advantages to using a single L6 module.

First, if the droid has only one armor slot, you can slap one in.

Second, the overall resource cost is lower for a single L6 than an L4.

Third, if you make all your modules in your factory as I do, it is less crates of stuff to have sitting around.

Sketh pretty much nailed all my reasons for why Armor 6 is better than 2 Armor 4 modules.

As for where I get my composite armor segments, at first I contacted a few armor smiths and bought 100 segments at a time in crates. After I used up my last one and found out the armor smith I was working with had moved on I spent some time trying to locate a new one without any real luck. After about a day of annoyance I just went out, bought a wearables factory, gave an armor smith 18 units of steel and had them make me a schematic, and away I go.

Turns out that since I wouldn't be tying up one of their factories for a long time on a comparatively low profit project that most armor smiths are happy to help out.

Actualy, I have a really great deal with an AS.

He sells me fairly cheap crates of the segs, and I run a vendor for him in our city. I don't really make anything out of it... but Riverveil does

I used an advanced composite armor segment is working to put inlvl 5 or 6 droid armor module crafting. It does better than normal comp armor segment.

2 Level 3 experimented armours=Level 6

As for skeths reasoning...

1) Droids that only have one slot dont need armour

2) Level 3 is cheaper than 4, and it doesnt require rare spawns or hunting down an armoursmith and explaining you need the cheapest segments he can make.

3) factory running 3 is no different than 6
