Thread: Thinking about becoming a Droid Engineer...
I've been bored lately and haven't tried a crafter class before. I know you guys are neglected by SoE, but I like droids, so I decided to possibly go with it. I'm at engineering 3 trying to get 4. Was looking to see what to craft that will yield the most exp and can get me to Droid Engineer faster. Any tips? Thanks

Welcome, new DE.
You might just have joined at the right time. Don't grind TOO fast, you've got a couple of months before the new good stuff comes out.
Keep your eyes out for the rares you will need, starting now.
It will slow your grind down, but if, when you reach master, you don't have a stockpile of the rares you will need, you won't be able to make the droids that you will want to.
My answer: Yes, unless you have a lover, brother, or alternate account you can REALLY count on.
Every surgical droid, R2 and protocol droid (prob'ly some other I forgot) uses advanced droid brains. Every R3 requires TWO factory-identical advanced droid brains.
So in order to be a successful DE, you WILL need to make advanced droid brains, and in fact, you will most likely want to make factory runs of them.
Well, each advanced brain requires four identical GP modules and four identical memory modules. Since creating a schematic automatically eats up one full set of components, a crate of memory modules and a crate of gp modules will leave you with 21 of each after you create a schematic, assuming you don't critical. That means you'd get five brains out of the factory.
Well, I'll sell that many droids from my vendor overnight most times... So as you can imagine, the number of crates I go through is pretty high. If I was not a Master Artisan as well, there's no way I could meet my own demands. I literally run 1000 unit schematics of these components every few days.
I just became a Droid Engineer recently, and let me tell you....it's a hard road baby. Good luck to yah.

I finally got Blueprints I last night!
I'll say it again im a bounty hunter and i would love to have a new kind of battle droid like a droideka from episode 1or better yet Ig88 bounty hunting droids or other droids of that kind.I really want them to fix this professtion. I think it would make the game better all around and therewould be a decrease in ch as well.
If the dev's read this i hope you make these changes or a will spam this forum until you do hahaha.

Although you can do pretty decent with a 4/3/0/4 DE , it's a tough road with few rewards at the end.
Put it on hold , build up your other skills , and if / when our 'improvements' come , start back on the grind.
