Thread: Droid Report: Droid Reconstruction Kits unusable by non-DEs (info from Devs)

Heya, everyone...

So, the Devs have cleared me to pass on info about the following:

I made the following report, based on info I saw from the Publish 7 DE bug thread and other places.

  • "I'm getting verified reports that Droid Reconstuction kits (for wounds) are not usable by non-DEs."

The Dev answer to this issue:

  • "That is correct. The [Droid] Reconstruction kits were specifically made for DEs only. Non-Droid Engineers need to use their repair droids to repair wounds. These kits were put in to address the problem of Droid Engineers not being able to repair their own droids because they could have only one droid out at a time.

Please pass this information on to everyone."

So...now we know. These kits are only actually usable by DEs.

It's nice to think that they were doing this for a valid reason (that we had reported).

Okay...back to gathering info...

Ok..

Sad as it is, I see their logic, somehow.

Afterall, not just anyone can use medical Stims. You have to have at least Novice Medic before your able to use Stim A's or B's.

BUT Novice Medical can be picked up by anyone for 100 credits! Novice Droid Engineer is an advanced profession!

I fear you do not understand the issues here. This is not stims this is woundpacks, and more than that it is woundpacks that replaced a droid repair module-hence no need for anyone to buy that module or the droid that has it.

This is a Good Thing (tm)

P.S to TK.....I guess this means no two droids out for MDE anytime soon eh?

Aha, I get it now, AND feel like an ass,

-All at the same time!

Well that's good. I'd still, however, prefer to be able to take out both my wounded droid, and my droid with a repair module, at the same time.

Cool. Good work on finding this out TK.

Now I dont have to waste time harvesting the following for Adv Recon kit parts all the time:

Rori Fiberplast
Curbirian Steel
Known Liquid Petrochem
Orweth Reactive Gas

And the supply of things like Plexite Gemstone and Keschel Extrusive Ore I can mine in lesser quanitities.

Unless of course any of these have good stats for droids of course.

  • Um, excuse me, if no one can have two droids out at the same time, how are Non-DEs going to use their repair droids to repair wounds? Who do they mean when they say "Their"?

Question, do repair modules in droids created or activated after the patch work? My pre-patch crated R2s had their HAM jump from 275 to 1632 due to insta-crafting. Could this mean the repair modules in them work?

It's nice to see the love. What are they thinking? I mean all you have to do to heal a pets wounds is feed the dang thing.

i was wondering when someone would point that out.

That explanation makes NO SENSE. They must have a repair droid to repair their damaged droids?

    HUH.

Although, one could see a universe where were non-de's get 2 droids, and MDE's get 1.... can never tell around here.

This just seems like another paradox for the droid engineer. So instead of using a droid wound pack you either
need to come to a DE to repair your droid for you, or find someone who has a Repair Droid with a working repair
module, considering it's impossible to have 2 droids out at one time.

How can a sentence like this: "These kits were put in to address the problem of Droid Engineers not being able to repair their own droids because they could have only one droid out at a time," actually be used to explain anything!!??

This sounds like a major pain for all non-DE's. I wish the DEVs would realize that their explaination
    makes no sense at all.

Again this begs the question, is there anyone out there in DEV-land that A. has a droid in-game, or B. has walked
one day in a DE's shoes....

I like it, I mean how will a chef know how to repair his droid, the thing I think is moslty common sence. They seek out a repair droid or a DE, before they had to do the same. I think I will stick to the repair droid instead of making these kits though. Also all the repair modules I made have worked in the past, just some droids they don't seem to work in. Mouse and Repair droids they did work. The surgical doesn't seem to to work with storage mods and so on but I wish a menu would pop up telling me this.
