Thread: Now that Droids will have a CL of 30, Please Give Us Droidekas!
Give the droideka six combat exclusive module slots and a base damage rating in the chassis.
Please take note.
Along time ago SOE showed us new pictures for potential replacement schematics or even new droids one of these droids is a modified R-unit droid base with basically a turret on its head. It never appeared ingame and left a potential new thing for us left in the scrap heap.
It wasnt till i went to the Myydrill caves last night and completed the Necrosis caves that it showed me how much DE's have been left behind. In the cave are scores of "forgotten Creations".
They are droids Mainly LE-repair droids, DZ70 droids and..... a fabled droid we got promised on the first ever Droid Engineer REvamp. I have a screenshot and will post if nobody has an idea of what i am going on about however what really dissapoints me is that not only are these droids ingame... and thus the artwork is done it was just never passed to us...but these droids where doing some serious damage to me and my group far above anything i would expect from adroid, and even there was a level 71 LE Repair droid doing a serious amount of damage...
Its very Dissapointing.
For the ones interested, the Myydril cave droids are lvl 74 elites.
I wonder if the name "a forgotten creation" is supposed to tell us something...

There were also Droidekas and Trade Federation droids (Roger roger).
After I went through the Necrosis thing, I sat just barely in the roomwith the "forgotten creations." I stared at those droids, and they sure looked cool. At at level 70+, they packed a punch.
I'd love to see Droidekas, the Trade Federation droids, and the Blastromech craftable.
We're looooong overdue for new droid chassis.

No BH only droids. Especially not Droideka's. If anything, maybe Assassin Droids (IG-88 types). Just because a third of the players in the game are made up of BH's and another third are Jedi doens't mean you oughta cater to either group.
I wouldn't particularly care if they had "no punch" (which isn't true, a Probot is immensely helpful for fighting even if it is just for extra damage), I just want new droids. Its been FAR too long since the Droid Engineer's got anything new other than modules. A new droid model or too would be excellent, and Droideka are popular enough to make it a fairly obvious choice as to which should be added. Its not like its any extra work, the model is in the game. Just a bit of coding.

If they would just add NEW Frames and REAL combat droids (bd's i can live with...) I think that would sedate the de community. I am just tired of people wanting stuff they are never (... ok almost never) going to add.

well being around since the beginning I have also read a lot of posts about adding more chassis frames... I(and many other de) have lived through the Droid Engineer/Droid Commander debates only for us to debate debate debate until we ran out of time in the dev calendar. What we ended up with was some good content but still lacking new frames which many of us thought were going to be added with the droid revamp.
While I agree with you that the droidekas DEs would probably craft would not be uber destroyers you may face as NPCs, that doesnt mean we shouldn't be allowed to at least have the chassis.Getting thechassisis like getting your foot in the door. Once we have em we can lobby to make themmore powerful.
Also many items we get in the game from crafters are not as powerful as their npc counterparts. Many Creature Handlers cant have wild versions of some animals but are allowed BE versions that may be weaker than their wild counterparts. How about professions themselves...? Dark Jedi Knight NPCs? Why arent regular jedi knights also level 295 like their NPC counterparts? So you can see why I lobby just to have droidekas. We arent going to get a CL 70 without some drastic changesso at least give us the content at level 30 which is easier for the devs to program. Why cant we have "balanced" ones at level 30?This can easily be explained away as a government protocol that makes droidekas being sold have dumded down weapons systems (kind of like we can have AK47s in real life but laws prevent us from owning the automatic version of thegun).
And I have to disagree with you that making them only for BHs would be a good idea.Not everyone is a BH and the game will continue to evolve to be more diverse than Jedi vs BH (currently the BH vs Jedi is real unhealthy for the game as it should be more centered on the GCW and rebel vs imperial).The proposals being batted around at fanfest have already hinted at the devs desire to make the game less centered on BHvs Jedi. Content added just for BHs will continue to make the game more and more similar. We need this game to be more diverse and there are enough droids already catering exclusively for BHs.

Sorry... I'm more frustrated at the lack of content for de for close to 2yrs. Everyone wants something that seems like that they don't want to add. It could have been done during the Droid publish... nada. Our combat droids have been slowly getting nerffed... mods either don't work or work lower then before cu...
Granted the cannon (if there really is one now) doesn't have droideka's now. So don't add them, add other things... add either assasin or security droids. Add stuff that helps the average person. Delivery droids... ugh sorry. Give a le repair droid a bonus to starship repair... protocol droid that is a house servant...
I like Star Wars from the movie/D6 rpg... droid are suppose to be helpful, or protect you. Add stuff from them... no one is suppose to have an r-series droid that is combat related "legally" ... but again... rpg info, not swg. Two different realities.
Sorry I really didn't mean to hijack the post ... I just get mad when all I see is droideka's this and droideka that... I'll go back to my hole and the "if you don't have anything nice to say... dont' say anything at all."
