Thread: Question on harvestor droids

Can anyone use them or do you have to be a scout? If so, does how far up you are on the hunting tree effect how much the droid will harvest? Sorry for the noob questions, but this is all new to me. Thanks for taking the time to help me out.

the "harvesting" droid requires that the owner of the droid have at least novice scout in order to use, and the level of harvesting is dependant on the rating of the droid, not the skill of the master.

I don't think that is entirely accurate.
I bought a 100 harvest rated droid last night and ran a quick couple of experiments.
I Have hunting IV btw.
I found a spawn of Brackasets and only harvested from adults from the same spawn These were my numbers.
Pre Veghash:
MY Harvest 31
Droid Harvest 36
With Veghash:
My Harvest:37
Droid Harvest:41
It seems to me that the droid rating works as a percent multiplier of your skills.
Also of note is that this brief experiment should by no means be a deterrent to a potential harvestor droid buyer.
The numbers don't look big here but remember that it is working as a percent increase. When you go out to harvest meat from a rancor... send your droid, and eat your veghash.
When I am killing bigger game...the bot gets the call.
When I am killing massive amounts of small game, I only use veghash as I would have to wait for the call time constantly.
I wish they would code this beauties for auto-harvesting.

That's how they are supposed to work... just as medical modules gives a percent increase for medic this one adds a little something for scouts.

So my point is solid then. Use these things on your big kills for a pretty significant boost in harvesting.

You have to be novice scout to use it, and own the droid.
Quantity of resource harvested by the droid will increase when your skill increase, but, the higher your skill will be, the lower the difference between you harvesting and the droid harvesting will be.

OK, just did some testing.. If you train a droid with someone that has scout skills and give it to someone without scout skills, they will NOT be able to harvest with it (a 60k test ::sighs:

Is it possible to make a harvestor droid with 100+ rating and have storage. I had to give up 10 items of storage, which is alot for a doctor.

Over 100? Not possible at all. It's theoritically possible to be at 100 if you had 5 perfect modules, but I've never heard of anyone getting them that high.

Theorically it would be possible to have a 100 rated droid with Item storage, however due to resource constraints, the best that you will likely see is 97 with storage.
