As the title said I belive DE's should be making the majority of player pets not BE's. Im sure you have all seen the non-ch mounts running around with 9k health 6k action and 3k mind along with ar1 and I think around 40-50% kinetic resist. I have seen many more of these than combatdroidsand other than my ownI caint remember seeing more than 1 or 2 combat droidsin several months but as a MCH I frequently get tells asking to tame these CL10 monsters (and I of course refuse).

What is the general feeling of the DE community on this? Do you feel these pets have been hurting your sales? The CH community very much wants to see these pets fixed and I belive it would also greatly help your profession if these were removed. The only way to get his fixed is if their is a large outcry against them. If you all feel that this is a non-issue I apoligize for posting on your boards. Thank you for taking the time to listen.

A fair number of BEs would like the invalid pet checks fixed as well ... I've crafted two of these (mostly to see if I could), and just use them every now and then to group with for the XP bonus and leave them behind. As things stand, we CAN craft them, so some DO for sale, and some weaker pets are caught by the pet checks, and nobody can know if it will happen to THIS pet. Of course, the BEST way to fix it is to set the CL right in the first place, something like checking what the stats and CL will be as it grows and bumping the CL if it needs it, before displaying it on the pet in production. Anyway, feel free to get your correspondent in on this, one more certainly can't hurt...

Sorry, DEs don't make "pets"...we make droids.

Although my sales of combat droids remain as brisk as ever, the truth is, most people don't use ANY pets these days.

Once you hit Master of just about any combat profession, with buffs and composite you can pretty much solo the majority of the game content.

Hopefully this will change when the combat balance materializes.

Yep, I hope so too. The armor+buff system is terrible. Anyone can tank better than even the best CH pet. Maybe after the CB, combat droids will be something every person will want to give them an edge.

I dont think DE's should make creature pets.. thats silly. But I was thinking it would be cool if DE's could make some sort of implant that a CH can attach to their pet to make them more aggresive or act a certain way.

I wasnt saying DE's should be making creature pets I was saying that droids should be better than a non-ch creature pet.

I want to see joint pet efforts. Idea: cyborg bodyguards. One requires components from the other. I like my rebel pet and would love to have just normal bodyguards without being overt. And they could let us give these bodyguards armor and weapons. Or maybe we make just a clone bodyguard and have the armor and weapons come from DEs. I dunno, just seems we both have something for aiding a player and would like to see us get a combined market share instead of competing.

Well put TK, not better, but different.

Shoulda, coulda, woulda, its better to be unified than divisive. We just got over a hump where, after our revamp, the BEs complained and griped that we were going to "steal" all the business because of our new droids combat ability. Took weeks of work to put out those fires, and now you, a non DE, show up here and recommend we try to raise an outcry to get them nerfed? Sorry, these forums should never become one profession "against" another. It's customers working to get a good and consistent gameplay experience from the Developers, not sniping and backstabbing at each other that will get us a "better" game.

All im really asking for here is for people to push to have the devs fix the equation that determines the CL of creatures. The lowest lvl creature I coud find with stats simmilar to those of one of the Uber non-CH pets was theriverside sulfur mynock http://www.swgcreatures.com/detail.asp?creatureID=10. Its CL is 33. Non-Ch pets should only have 1.5kHAM andlikeone 20% kinetic resist.

I came here asking for an opinion of the DE community for something I belived was hurting them. the fact remains that these pets shoud not be in existance they trivialize being a CH and are better than droids againt creatures. As i said in my origional post if you all belive this is a non issue I apologize. But I will ask you this. Whats the point in dropping 50k on a probot with 3500 HAM and 40% kinetic resist when I can walk over here and buy a non-ch mount with 9k health, 5k action, 3k mind ar1, 50% kinetic resist, and on top of that can get me to pointA toB faster in case my speeder breaks? Given the choice I for one wouldnt buy a droid.

Do I hear a hint of HRD (Human Replica Droids) in this statement?

Simple thoughts: (Derived from personal experience and talking with other BEs)

1. Lvl 10 pets can't have armor anymore.

2. Almost impossible to get lvl 10 pets with mid or high range resists.

3. Some people like the look of a creature over a droid.

4. All older 'UBER' lvl 10 pets have been removed or 'nerfed' down to realistic stats.

Not being a DE, I can't comment on how profitable business is. But, as a BE, I know that lvl 10's pets are not as in demand as some people think. Many of the pets around now have been with their current owner for some time. And since the stats on new onesare harder to make impressive, selling new lvl 10's is a very small percent of my business.

Again, just opinions from my experience as a BE... take it as you will.
