I'm trying to build an Adv R-3 but I just started Droid Engineer on Beta. Can someone tell me what exactly I need to build one please?

What I meant is, what are the exact steps? Like where do I start? Do I start with the chassis, the Droid Brain, etc.? What are the exact components that I need to have made to make a complete Adv R-3 droid?

Yeah, we know what you meant. Honestly, if you're interested in becoming a DE, then you should read the stickies at the top of this forum. If you're "just trying it in beta" then you should leave the DEing to the DEs that are there, and get your droids from them. I know at the very least, that our correspondent is there, and if he's working as hard as he usually does, he has made his presence known on the Beta Forums.
Failing all that, look in the datapad for your DE. find the manufacturing schema for the Advanced R3. look at the parts it lists. Then, look at the schematics for those parts to find out what it takes to make them. Trust me, there is a good reason that the Adv R3 is a master level droid.

Again, http://swgcraft.com/skilltree.php?prof=dre
The answers are all there. If you don't even have the patience to look up the components you need, you won't make it as a DE. I'm back from hiatus, but if this forum is anywhere near what it used to be, the DE's here tend not to spoon feed info, if you don't bother to look for it yourself.

Go easy on the guy. He probably just wants an astromech droid, and can't find anyone else to provide one. It's not exactly easy finding crafters for a lot of stuff you need when there's no incentive for any crafter to go through the trouble of it (the frog tends to make it an every player for himself world).

Start with some factory made EGP's and EMM's these come from the Master Artisan profession. You need 4 of each identical, for each droid brain. So they must come from a factory.
You need actually 12 total of each, make more to be safe.
Use 4 of each ot make a schematic then for Advanced Droid brains. You need 2.
Then make a control unit, you need it for your advanced Droid Motive system. Now make your Advanced Droid motive system.
Then you also need an Advanced Droid frame unit, a Manipulator Arm package set, and a Droid Sensor Array.
Combine all of those, including your Adv Brains, and Motor System, into making the Advanced R3 Chasis. You needa Chemical (firbroplast) as well.
Once you have the chasis, combine it with your modules, armor, and more Chemical to make your final droid.
There you go. Have fun.

^^^ Coles notes version!
just to clarify, you made 12 egp/emms in a factory, because the 2 advanced droid brains need to comefrom a factory crate.

If it's one thing I'm glad about some of these "frogs" from TC-Ahazi/Bria and the JTL beta....it's that more people have a appreciation of what's required for a given profession, and a reason why certain products cost a lot of credits.

BUT...............
BEFORE you can put that final R3 droid together, you have to make two Combat Capable Socket Cluster Modules (can't use the General Socket Clusters even if it's not for combat use) made up of component moduleswith whatever characteristics you want in your final R3 droid.
To do that, you need to first make those component modules, whether they are for combat, entertainment effects, creature harvesting, harvester maintenance, item storage, data storage, auto repair, stimpacks, medical rating bonus, crafting stations (food/chem, weapon/droid/general, structural or clothing/armor), droid wound repair, merchant barker, etc. (probly left something out, but you're getting the idea, right?).
Then you combine whichever ones of the above types of modules you want in your final droid into two different CCSC's. Then you are ready to make your final droid.
Give up? A lot have. Those of us who have stayed do it because we enjoy droids, enjoy the challenging of finding out just what a customer *really* wants in their droid(s), and then trying to make it right.
If you've even read this far, there's hope for you in the profession. Keep asking questions, but please do yourself and everyone else a favor, and read some of the "stickied" threads at the top of the forum before you ask. :-> It'll make it a lot easier to answer just what you want to know.
But that's just my opinion, and Hey! I could be wrong!

Oh yeah. Bottom line is, you CAN'T build an Advanced R3 at Novice DE. You have to go all the way up the crafting tree at least, in order to make all the subcomponents you'll need. And have Master Artisan if you don't want to have to buy about half a dozen parts from others.

Heh Kniol, thx for the cluster catch.
Even after hand crafting over 1000 R3's I still missed a step, kind of funny.
