Thread: Information Gathering: Structure Maintenance module when does it fail??!?
I think it will help us to get a resolution on the Structure Maintenance module if we can find out when/where it's failing (in terms of the different droid combinations, etc.).
So, if you've had a droid that's failed, please post:
- Your Server
- Droid chassis type used
- Installed in a General / Combat Cluster ( Yes / No ) - please specify the type, if "Yes".
- Level of Structure module used (1, 2 or 3)
- Whether or not multiple modules where 'stacked' in the droid.
Note: It is not intended that these modules will stack. If you've been trying to stack these modules, that may be part of your issue...do NOT stack these in any droids.

Respectfully,
Server: Gorath
Chassis type: Power Droid and R4
Installed as : Single module in both cases
Module level : both 3
Other Modules present : No in both cases
The R4 failed when I redeeded a Heavy Mineral Harvester that I had on Naboo that was on the droids list. The Power droid failed when I redeeded a Fusion Generator on Talus that was on its list.
Server: Chilastra
Chassis: Adv. R3
Installation: Combat Cluster
Module: Struct. Maint. Level 3
Other modules in cluster: Storage Level 6, Weapon, Droid& General Crafting Station
Module did appear in the cluster as a structure maintenance rating of 12, but the rating in the final droid assembly was 0. This same combat cluster works when installed in the Adv. R2 chassis.
Failure of all working modules occurs, so far, upon redeeding a structure on the droid's maintenance list without first editing the list to delete the structure before redeeding.

"They" didn't send me out, GnomeAd. I came out one my own (to get an info collection thread going), so that we can hopefully expedite a fix sooner.
Having 'hard data' to go on islikely the single best way to make that happen.
I've already made them aware (via some of your posts, etc.) about the issue of redeeding harvs. breaking the droid's features.
Respectfully,
On the R3 I made, they failed both whilein and out of crate while doing the assembly.
On a BLL they failed while trying to install from a crate, but if I took it out of the crate it worked fine.
Agreed. This has been a known problem since the day they "fixed" these modules. The fact thay they seem to have sent TK out amongst the masses to "find out what's going on" is extremely disturbing. Read any thread about these modules on any board and you will see multiple posts about this bug. It's actuallybetter documented than the proper functionality of this module. Everyone seems to know about it but the devs. Sad...really sad.

But aside from the module rating not always getting transfered to the final droid issue is concerned: i think that bug is irrelevant compared against the bug that causes a working module to permanently break as soon as one of the structures in its maintenance list is redeeded! The bug with redeeding a structure always happens to any working module no matter what droid it is installed in. If this second bug isn't fixed, all other issues with the module are moot, IMO. Who cares if you can put the module in an R3 if the module is eventually going to break anyway?
- Server - Europe.Chimaera
- Chassis - ADV Protocol & Protocol
- Installed in cluster - No
- Level - Lvl 3 Structure Maitenance Module
- Stacking - No
Thank you for your interest, this is one of the most embarassing problems I have faced as a DE.
PanaGo
Corbantis
advanced Protocol Droid
Level 3, not in a cluster, not stacked
Made two, one with a merchant module and one with a 10-item storage module and neither worked even once.
Bah, can't edit.
Anyway...
Server: Starsider
Client: Myself
Droid: MSE (basic)
Cluster: No
Level: 3
Multiple Modules: None
Thought I would give this a whirl. Was able to assign and program the little bugger.
I'es secure-traded me her droid. Was not able to get the Assign or other Structure menu options. (this was before I made the MSE, but she was already gone off to bed)
* R4 adv
* Combat Cluster ( Yes) - please specify the type, if "Yes".
* Level of Structure module used (3)
* Data level 6 + storage level 6+ structure level 3
When i assign the limit of structures to mainteneance, the option of "edit mantineance list" dont work.
Thanks,
Made 3 R3 Advanced today - all 3 same set up - Food, Weps &10 Item storage in one cluster (all from factory crates, though the cluster was hand made) and the second cluster with hand made Structure Craft, Clothing craft and a Factory made Lvl 3 Structure Maintenance (all 3 droids had the structure Maintenance modules from the same crate which was produced a couple of days ago).
The final assembly of the droid and both Socket Clusters was by hand for all 3 droids, but withidentical resourcesand all droid brains used in the clusters were from the same production run (2 different crates though). All 3 R3 chassis were from the samefactory crate. FInal HAM on all 3 droids was identical.
One of the droids shows the structure Maintenance on the description, the other 2 DONT?!?!
Good luck trying to figure this one out TK! Maybe has something to do with the quality of the Socket Cluster as that the only thing that was probably different between the 3 droids (allsocket clusterswere experimented on to max values but may have differed)?Or maybe the slot the Module its put in when making the cluster is what may have caused it as this was different for each droid?
I dont know, probably gonna give up making structure maintenance droids until this is sorted out. Lost 50k thanks to this bug, as now those 2 R3s have the same set up as the R2sI sell for 30k, while the one that works I am selling for 55k. Only way I can shift those broken R3s now is dropping the price to the same as the R2s.![]()
