Thread: A request to find out about Droid Experimentation?

I challenge you to find an effect. There are MANY things in this game that are 'inconceivable' to seasoned IT professionals, such as simple UI changes entirely eliminating the ability to rename an item (when 'program' was changed to 'converse' for speaking droids).
Droids with highly experimented and well-made Advanced Droid Brains are no smarter than those with crap brains.
Droids with GREAT Advanced Droid Motive Systems still stop following you randomly and aren't any faster/more reliable than others.
Droids with seriously well-made Advanced Droid Frame Units have not one iota more HAM points than those made from grinding materials.
The only place I've *ever* seen experimentation make a real difference is in modules of level 5 or less, where you can occasionally get experimental results that bump up effectiveness a little bit (such as being able to use two really GOOD level 3 storage modules to gain the effect of a single level 6, whereas with level 4 modules, you don't need to experiment at all).
Hmm... ONE effect?
How about a Weapons/Droid/General Crafting Station Module with a Quality Ratingof +8... as opposed to a Quality Rating of -7?
You dont see any difference at all in the frequency of CFs when using a crafting station of a negative quality rating? I certainly do.
Wouldn't yourather to work with a positive quality crafting station at home instead of a negative one?

Ok, if no one has seen experimentation do any good, (Except Crafting stations, thanks Rho :smileywink
then does the device quality number do any thing?
When I create a part and it starts at something like -8 then I experiment on it to either 0 or +8 is it doing anything or am I wasting my time. I make factory run of parts to save time and not having to lug around a ton of resources and if I don't have to worry about this then I can save some time by not worring so much about it and just crank out a bunch of part.
Can't remember how much resources I wasted trying to get the highest quality part I could.

You're wasting your time.
But I waste my time, too, so don't feel bad.
I figure that I'll go ahead and experiment everything up as high as I can on the off chance that there will be a retroactive change when Droid Engineers are patched.
Don't use really high quality resources, though. That's a real waste. Save those in some storage house somewhere so that once we've been fixed and experimentation matters you'll have them handy to make the best possible droids.
