Thread: TH: We want our promissed thread
AND WE WANT IT NOW!!
Geez Im so frustrated... I even dont know where to post this now with the changes on the forums ![]()
Well, in THs defense, I think I need to speak up a little. The issue that is happening with vendors is literally game breaking. Since the vendor changes went in, a couple of months ago, it would appear that some servers are having major database issues. Before the 30 day grace period was established, items on a vendor would need to be reloaded once a week, which lead to quick turn arounds on a vendor and people stocking up their vendors with less items, due to dread of having to restock dropped items once a week.
Now that this vendor stocking balance measure has been removed, some vendors are becoming vastly overstocked, which leads to a higher strain on the vendor database. This is a game breaking issue and needs to be resolved ASAP or nothing else will really matter, since some serverscould becomecompletely unplayable. I'm sorry to say, but getting the ball rolling on the vendor issue should take priority over anything else, due to the destructive nature that it could have on all game play aspects.
I was able to gain some information from TH about the next patch, after pestering him a couple of times during the day, but I can't release any information until I am given the go ahead to do so. I can understand that everyone wants an answer right this minute - imagine my frustration in this matter - but we are going to have to be patient for a little while longer.

Drashk,
I figured it had to be that, plus a ton of other things TH listed that had to be done in one of his posts in the middle of some thread somewhere.
Just don't get me started on choosing game/server systems that can't hold up under the load of running a live game that should have been stress tested way before release.
I have the distinct pleasure of being both a DE and a Merchant.
Ihave such vivid nightmares........ ![]()
I'd much rather he take his time and do the Droid Invasion RIGHT, rather than rush it out and leave us with alot of unanswered question.
The Bazaar and Vendor thread was hit pretty quick and pretty hard - I think they have our answers.
Hopefully the can make a decision and push the changes out.
We've waited this long, a few more days won't kill us.
I'm just hoping they'll revise the schedule so we have adequate time to thoroughly discuss the topics.
Honestly, whoever did capacity planning for this thing woefully underestimated the need. There seems to have been no accounting for how people would actually play the game, and whatever quick fixes go in to work around the capacity limits tend to restrict us unmercifully.
A simple acknowledgement from TH would go a long way to help settle us disgruntled old timers.
All he has to do is take a minute of his time to come here and say "Hey DEs, I know you were supposed to get your thread, but some game breaking things came up that took my immediate attention. I'll get it to you ASAP."
Just a little acknowledgement is all I ask for. I just want to know that we havn't been forgotten which is what everyone is asuming (me included).

Drashk: Thanks for the "update", I feel a bit (but just a bit) better now.
But as Norax said... TH should have posted something here to let us know what was happening ![]()

Thanks Drashk,
I would say that yes that is a priority. I know my sales have dropped off not so much due to people not buying my things as to the fact that the vendors where down most of the weekend. When the vendors work, I know I make my sales.
Thanks for the update. You may want to make this post its own thread, it may cool down a large number of upset people.
do u really belive that?
every work on DEs has been delayed for anyother changesthey could find since beta 3.
they always set droids on the last point of there list so there will never be a chance they will let someone even think about changig DEs, the DE dev has not once worked on DEs nor hewillcause he is assigned to all other issues since beta3. and now space update is approaching, as not even a plan exists or a dev is assignet to DE yet it wont happen cause they have to work on the space expansion.

It would add more insult to injury hearing Space Expansion news before DE plans, but you can seriously assume the patient would beflatlining as the family works onstirring upa malpractice suit should those DE plans be implentated in the Space Expansion.

Thanks for the info Drashk. I recall when they changed the vendors to this new system. The first thing I said to myself: people are going to use it as storage. How can they fret over a handful of melons in one moment then come back and give people carte blanche with vendors.
Grrr. And we keep getting screwed! ![]()
I'm presently compiling a list of all of the approximate 4 million units of resources and 300+ droid crates I presently own, that will be offered up for sale.
I move 40-50 items off of my vendor on a good day (and I only offer crates of batteries and BH droids), with easily an excess of 500 items on my vendor when stocked heavy. I can not, and will not stand to become a MDE and a master merchant, especially with our 100% reliance on master artisan (leaves like 30-40 points to put into other classes). I refuse to have to coordinate with a master merchant just to sell my wares, only to have them slapped up with dozens of other clients. I refuse to coordinate the in person sale and interaction with anything more than one or two people a night. I refuse to drop my prices so low that they are under the proposed 6k mark on the bazaar.
Devs/Thunder want to complain about monopolies? What till this happens, and all the top crafters drop their profession. I know almost half that I've talked to will be. I'm in this game to have fun, and all the proposed changes take away from everything I've worked for since the beginning.

Two things Drashk:
- I really don't see how the vendor issue would be taking up THs time now. He posted the thread for feedback, and it shouldn't be taking up that much time to keep up with peoples opinion on the matter. Heck, I know that everyone don't like it and that they're looking at compromising on a solution using the Merchant skill tree to give you more items and that everyone seems to be ok with that. I know all this and guess what, it ain't my job to know. We need to stop giving him the benefit of the doubt when it comes to things like this. He has proven time and time again that he sets deadlines that he can't meet and doesn't seem to be improving on it. If he isn't able to do the job, SOE needs to find someone who can. End of story.
- Please stop with the "I know a secret but I can't tell you about it" stuff. It doesn't help matters and actually adds to the frustration levels.
