Thread: what new droid combos are you going to make?

i see several new "standard" droids and am looking for opionions


ranger droid

an r3 w/3 trap mods and 3 harvest mods


combat medic droid


r3 w/5 stimpak mods and 1 level 6 heal mod


dancer droid

w/5 effects mod and 1 music mod


barker droid

mouse w/1 barker mod


bomb droid

a mouse w/ 1 bomb mod


comments? suggestions? what other combos are you going to make?

I think I'll do an R3 with F/C, Med, item and stim dispensorx3 if the effect of the dispensors stack.


if I can get the tolium gas, plenty of the bomb droids, planed obselencense, oh yeah

Anyone gotten a clue on what to charge for Detonator Mice (or any feedback from potential BH/Smuggler customers)?


Will 3k be unreasonable? 4k? 2k?

As a smuggler, I have to say the amount I will pay will be based entirely on A) how well they work (do they track, do they actually damage the target, do they knockdown) and B) How much damage will they do. If I'm running a mission for 5K, then it's not going to be worth it to me to spend 2-3K on droids to take it out, I'll just use one, maybe, and finish up with my pistols.Course, the novelty factor is worth paying for too, but I suspect it will wear off quickly.


I guess you could compare them to grenades, or possiblycompare them to wear and tear damage to weapons per mission?


I see these as more of an "opening salvo".

Hmm. Just realised, if I use one, and then am in combat, I can't pull my R3 with the lightning cannon. Suck.

I'll be working tomorrow, so I'll miss out on the initial rush, but then only thing I've prepared to make are R3s with food/chem, med6, item6, and threestimpack dispensor modules.


I'll also be pulling one of my BlastBot 550 Probots out of the crate to see what happens.

With each detonation module needing 80 units of Tolium reactive, I cant see charging less than 10k for an Adv Mouse with 2 of these modules. Good tolium is rare, and 80 units is an awefull lot considering you only need 10 units to make a blaster power handler.

I'm gona be doing the following:


MSE w/ 1 bomb module: 1.5k for singles, 6250 for crates of 5.


MSE Adv w/ 2 bomb modules: 2.5k for singles, 11250 for crates of 5, 21k for crates of 10.


R3 w/ 4 stim, 1 med 6, 1 storage 6


R3 w/ 6 effects modules


R3 w/ 3 harvesting, 1 trap, 1 combat mod


R5/4 w/ merchant barker


Also gona have some stim A's on vendor for people to buy up right there and then.


What people think of the above combo's? Anything i have missed out?

First off im going to run some economy droids


ADV DZ70 with Harvest and trap launcher


ADV Surgical with Food/Chem. lvl 6 medical, and stimpack module


Treadwell with Droid repair, and Auto health repair


LE repair with Droid repair, and 2x Auto health repair


LE repair with Merchant Barker


Protocol with Merchant Barker


R3 with 6 different effects modules


Acouple of different R3 configurations. and some more ideas as the come along.

Just a suggestion here guys. I think placing traps modules on these dorids is a waste for a lot of people. Most traps are pretty much useless. If you can load them up for harvesting I think it would be a better deal. But ask your customer base I might be wrong.

I'm a ranger/Master BE with a lil doc thrown in and I'd LOVE to have one with - med module (no need to pull out another droid to heal), a couple of harvest mods (I heard they stack to give better harvest mods), a trap droid (I think you'll find these sell well to anyone with basic scout. Most folks don't trap because its too much of a pain to keep a 5 trap stack loaded in yer hotkey; trap modules let you load 100's of traps) a food/chem craft mod (BE's always have to craft in the field) - if there's any room left a stimpak module or maybe another trap module IF it lets you load more traps.


This should be fun!


And heh . . if you're on Bloodfin, I'll buy one!!!

Am I the only DE who still crafts most droids "custom" for each order from a customer? lol


I keep busy just filling those orders, and I find that rarely are two orders the same. Most folks want a certain model, with a certain personality, and of course a selection of modules that all seem to differ somewhat.


When the rush dies down, I will probably fill my vendor with an assortment of droids that seem most popular, but thats just to fill my time before the next custom job.


I enjoy crafting em, I guess. So that's what I spend my time doing. heh.
