Heya, all...

If you haven't seen it yet, TH posted some answers to some of the Correspondent's most burning questions (via the profession forums, etc.).

You'll find the thread, and the info pertaining to us, below.

Note: I know this isn't the answer we wanted...but now I have a good reason to bug the _____ out of TH until we get this list of information.

Enjoy!

Respectfully,

Sometime in January, one of the correspondents asked me, “Will you answer 10 questions for my forum”? I said that I would be happy to do that. Then another correspondent asked and another and so on and so on until I had a ginormous list with over 400 questions on it and everyone has wanted "their ten questions" answered. The upside is that it’s a great way for me to get information to the players. The downside is that even if I did the lists one a week, it would still take too long to get them all in the eyes of the community.

Even still, it was a pretty popular request, so what I’ve done is changed it around so that it’s a weekly event. Instead of doing them one at a time, I’m going to do "19 answers". I’ll answer one question from half the professions on the first week and half on the next week. Then I’ll cycle around and do it again. So on Mondays, I'll post the "19 questions" for the Correspondents to answer and you should tell the correspondents which question you feel is most pressing for your community.

The intent is to do this on Wednesdays, but sometimes verifying the information runs a little long. This batch of questions has a great example; I had to go into some low level code with one of the devs on the droid crafting station question to confirm it has a neutral effect on the crafting process.

Droid Engineer Corr. (me): What are the design rules/principles that DEs will need to adhere to when making proposals for DL20+ (Droid Commander) suggestions? Many want to help work up this system prior to Space so we have it fully tweaked and ready to go.

TH: This is a tall order for a list of single questions, but it is a great idea. I will work with the dev team to establish some submission guidelines and get them to the correspondent.

This is why you rule TK. You stumped TH.

The other thing I don't understand, when did he release the info abou the Droid Crafting stations?

Nice job TK, but I think the more interesting answer is to the Doctor question. Now we have official confirmation that our crafting module ratings mean diddly-squat...which I thought contradicted what we've been told in the past on that number...

He did that with all questions...he picked the easist/most obvious one (in our case, the one that couldn't be answered immediately and allowed the brush off) and pounded out a quick answer.

Could be worse...look what docs got: He answered an out of date question that was answered in patch notes 3 days ago (fake bank tips)instead of choosing one of the really important ones.

You just wait....in 2 weeks he's going to answer the 9th easiest one. Can't wait for that...

Audio,

Are you saying my question was a waste or his answer was.....'not desirable'?

If there is a better question, I'll start a poll or something for what the next one should be.

However, I'll still be beating the "Marching down Gorantoth's list..." thing...so I may be able to get even more info on stuff. That's my plan, at least.

i think what AO is saying is that if ONE QUESTION was going to be answered another one would be more desirable

and that most of Kurts answers where worthless...

....such as?

The main reason I picked that one is due to the fact that we already know a lot on the coming changes. However, we've always asked for guidance on getting the combat droid plan in place...and it's never been forthcoming.

That's 1/2 of it.

If we were going to get a for-sure answer, I'd like it on something that matters NOW, not a dim possibility six months or a year into the future.

The other 1/2 is that a question like that obviously was not going to be answered in the desired way by TH in such a quick answer session.

As I said, it was a useless question - that got the expected useless answer.

And that is the point, my friend.

We have been there, done that. There have been so many Combat Droid proposals at this point that we've covered every version and angle, from mini-tree to hybird to full-fledged DH.

Asking how we can waste another nine months of time trying to make yet another one is an exercise in futility.

If they truly care about our ideas, they already have them; if they do not (as I now assume) they are going to implement Droid Handler in whatever pedestrian fashion they were going to do in the first place.

The price we paid for telling TH that he was wrong when he said "DE's overwhelmingly wanted" Droid Handler was that whatever Droid Handler they were ready to put ingot delayed six months or a year.

I feel bad for anyone who participates in any future "proposals" regarding combat droids, because they are doing useless work that has already been done.

well i think the question was perfectly relevant, and something that SHOULD be addressed now, but as you have all read it wont be any time soon. The problem wasnt your question, i just think we expected more of an answer. My worry is that we will get a response similar to other things ive heard from the Devs: "That would take weeks, and i dont see that happening".
