Was wondering if there was any info on how the display droids look. How is it to color a display? Can you add color to droids during crafting now?

yea, you can just color them during crafting (bot chassis and deeds). Deeds come out looking just like the chassis/droid (plus whatever color you used).

So, when you customize a droids color as it is being crafted, is that color it's permanent default color ? When you pull out an R series droid, does the color still randomize each time you pull it out after the customization fades ? Or does it revert back to its original paint job when it was created ?

Basically the customization made at crafting saves you from having to doa customization after the customer has used "ready droid unit" I have yet to see mine fade, but we will see in a day or so.

No - the first craft is an initial paint job with 20 calls. a paint job with a paint tool will last 50 calls currently - and when it wears off (either one) the droid turns bleach white.

I don't know that this is the case yet. I've seen itfail more than I've seen it work recently.

I made2 identical R3 Adv. yesterday. Onewas the good/correct color when it wasreadied, the other was not. In addition, I tried to make a black Protocol with red eyes and it didn't retain its color when readiedeither.

So, I'd say the default/permanent color for the readied droid is still buggy. (Yes, I've already /bugged this, etc.)

I'mhearing thisdoesn't work more than it works. I've had it run right but it most seems to act (on R units) the way we are used to seeing it (random color on call but fine when painted).

I believe that calling it over time has the same color (with fading in place as normal). The issue is what color comes out when the droid/chassis.

Chassis: These appear to be fine.

Deeds: They ARE the right color until someone tried to "ready" the droid. That part still seems to be not working 100%.

That's a tough call. I actually think they arn't. From what I see, the pallete is better. Ok, what doI mean by that? Well, the collors seema LOT richer in the customization window. I think there is actually a few changes and removal of duplicated colors ( like some ofthe off-whites ). It's hard for me to say because I can't see the two right next to each other.

Will it be possible to create display chassis for all types of droids after Publish 8 (chassis that can be dropped as items in a structure)?

I'd also like to be able to display MSE, Treadwell, Power, R5 and DZ70 droid chassisin my shop so customers can see the full range available to them.

deeds show up as display models in P8, so you can make display models (and customize them) out of deeds for those droids that don't have chassis.

Do chassis still act the same when you drop them in a house ? I am guessing the deeds AND the chassis act as displays now if you drop one in a structure ? If you drop a deed, does it make any noise like 'gonk' from the power droid or the 'beeps' from the R series ?

TK,

I'm sure you've asked the DEvs this, but seeing all the issues they seem to be having making customization work, what exactly is their reason for us not being able to paint droids (and vehicles) permanently? They've mentioned them being a renewable source of income for us, but let me list a few facts relating to my experience.

1. I have never sold a DCK.

2. When I sell a droid, I offer the free paint job, AND I throw in the free kit.

3. I must have sold over 30 of my R2s units with free DCKs, and only once did someone come back for a reapplication.

It's the same with vehicle customization kits, but at least then I made a nice chunk of cash off of them before the market evaporated with the vehicle repair bug.

I like to think it would reduce the load on the database by having droids only store 2 values (frame color, trim color) instead of three (frame color, trim color, calls left)...

That's why I was hoping customized DEEDS wouldtransfer their color to the readied droid without it ever fading away. Five out of six R2 units I've sold lately; the customer requested white frame and dark blue trim.

Side note: TK, have they addressed the issue with DCKs where if you paint the droid's trim with the first white box in the upper left corner, it doesn't stick? I have to use the second white box, and I use that when a customer wants a white frame.

Thanks.

Funny you should mention that. I came to the same conclusion a while back and completly forgot to /bug it. I concure that it is the first (and whitest) box only that is buggy. I actually use the lightest shade of brown instead. It has a higher "luminosity" thanfirst grey. The end result is a slightly cream color, but it has a cleaner, brighterlook to me than the first shade of grey.
