Thread: Hey TC DE's, how about an update on where our combat droids are ?
/bow
This makes me very happy. It really makes the combat droid a lot more viable, BUT I am afraid to get hopes too high. I recall the excitement of seeing our droids get a HAM boost only to see the armor nerfed in the last update, which really killed our market. Have you gotten any word on whether they are going to keep the new HAM's close to what you are seeing on TC ?

I'm seeing droids up into 3, 4 and 5k HAM a lot. I know I've made some DL18 and 19 droids (an LE and Probot respectively).
The combat modules themselves appear to yield pretty much the same as we have in Publish 7, with some very slight variance.
I'd say that, overall, the change is good since it will likely lead to these being more useful for combat roles and opening up an actual need for a higher-end repair kit market.

They've never really retroactively changed items (with the one exception of armor... but I've got some theories on how that worked). I don't think it was intentional, its just that it takes too much work to retroactively change each one (time which was better spent making new modules). I think the reason they were able to do it with armor is there was some form of global flag. All they had to do was change the flag for each level of armor. The droids themselves have stats that are stored individually for each droid. In order to change the droid's HAM, you'd have to go in and change it by hand.
Jjenden, is it your belief that all of the droids have hard-coded reference points in their object tables? I would hope that they are relative to a max point . If I follow your logic then, all databse chages would be reved locked to their initial values, time and again we have seen or been subjected to a changes that

Re-Edited....

I suspect that our droids have a max capability for a variety of attributes. If those max attributes were changed the it would percentagewise increase the droids HAM.

Combat Module 100%: (Confirm please, that the estimatedperfectmin/max on one is 35/37, making the ADV probot 100% theoreticallycapable of 175/185, R3 of 192.5/203.5??)
I'll have to check on this
Hmmm...those aren't quite right, from what I can tell.
I was making Combat modules at 72 all day long last night. I got to 411 and up at like 393 for a Probot's final Combat rating. I'd have to say that the max. Combat rating is likely tomax. at550 for Probots...but that's just a guess (so far).
Respectfully,
Thanks, Jenden and TK.
I was not thinking and assumed that 5 combat modules would be top rated at 500 combat value, while the R3 would hit max of 550. (That's where I derived my theoretical min/max for each droid).
SInce the combat droids in pub7 were so awful, I made very, very few of them and gave most of them to newbies grinding through marksman. (who really loved them - since there was no way they could have afforded them at the time, what with weapon purchases and armor)
By the way, have they fixed the character upload command to Test Center yet? I'd love to come on and help you guys out. If not, I can be your guys's resource harving slavey. Let me know.
Can anyone use these droids, no matter what level they are? Or do u have to be a CH for the higher level droids?
Just checking.

I thought that they had said that we would be getting new blueprints for new combat droids not just bells and whistles for current ones?
Dont get me wrong many of the new modules I suggested in beta and again on these forums back in july so i am glad they are finally giving us something useful droidwise in. Just missing all the true combat droid possibilities.

Your derived numbers are incorrect because it appears that you have assumed uniform damage values across droid chassis.
Currently, an R3 with 6 x CR 100 combat modules does about 130-140 damage. A Probot with 5 x CR 100 combat modules does about 155-165 damage. The Probot gets more out of its modules, either because it has an overall bonus or because it simply gets more out of each module. Note that currently, damage and HAM are in inverse proportions - the highest HAM droid does the least damage (LE Repair) and vice versa.
I would assume that this will also be true after patch 8.
