I'm putting this up as an advanced post to let you know that the Ahazi Droid Engineer Association would like to invite every droid engineer in SWG to one of our meetings the sunday after next (23 November). For those of you who are not on the Ahazi server, a little background.

Almost every Droid Engineer on the server has gotten together under a loose fitting title called the Droid Engineer Association. This is an organization whereupon we keep each other informed of all the new mineral spawns for the minerals that the profession needs, as well as current events and special news. In addition, we host a meeting of all the DEs we can get every other sunday on our server; for the purposes of helping out our fellow DEs and discussion the state-of-the-profession. It has been requested and now I am putting forward an invitation for Sintrosi, the Developers (including you, Thunderheart), and Droid Engineers from all servers to attend our next meeting. Obviously, your characters are all on different servers, so it is suggested that you make a temporary character on Ahazi with a character name similar to your main DE one (or your forum name).

I'll be publishing the agenda for the meeting by next wednesday, and anyone is welcome to suggest speaking points to be brought up.

There are so few of us left that before long, the DE profession will become extinct. We on Ahazi have taken steps to make sure that all in our profession are looked after, and are now welcoming out our arms to anyone who wishes to step in and have a real life discussion with the greatest single bulk of DEs in any one place (forum boards excluded; won't make comments about discussions on here =) )

I'd like to attend. I currently reside on Corbantis as Ariac. I made a character on Ahazi named Mabinogi Ariacson Just let me know what planet you meet on.

Next meeting is the sunday after this (23 november). the time and place have not been announced yet, but assume afternoon or evening (EST). I'll be putting out emails in-game and posting info on here as it develops.

One question (I almost hate to ask as it may seem beggary or the like):

Will someone be available to provide shuttle or starport funding to reach the meeting planet for those of us who don't play on Ahazi?

If you need funds, please send an in-game email to my MDE ("Doughbacca") on Ahazi and I will make sure you have enough credits to attend...anywhere it's held in the galaxy.

This offer is open to any DE (from Ahazi or otherwise) that wishes to attend. If you need 'cab fare', just let me know and I'll make sure you have some within 24 hours prior to the meeting.

Having the meeting on a starting planet near a starting city would be really good.

The first two meetings were on Corellia in the Hotel in Coronet. The third meeting was in the Lakeside Retreat on Naboo. I am sure this next meeting will be in a similarly accessible location.

I'm thinking #4 should be at the Great Pit of Karkoon, at the location of the almighty Sarlaac. Plenty of space...hard to get to...and we'll get to empathize with that it'svictimsmust have felt like. I like the irony.


But seriously...

We do need to find a location. I'm kind of partial to the beaches just outside Kaadara (near Best Buy and Woodrow's place). Someplace on Tatooine might be nice this time.

I don't know what my schedule will be then. But Ill do my best to be there.

May I suggest not a meeting place, but achat channel? I mean, if there's even 10 DEs from each server, we're talking about a serious possibility of a lag problem.

The second character I made was on Ahazi, so I think I'll dust him off.

We've held meetings with 20 people showing before, with no problems at all. It is advised that everyone not have their droids out, but lag has never been an issue before.

Besides. The whole goal is to get everyone face-to-face. Chat channels are alright, but there is something said about actually meeting everyone personally (well, as personal as an in-game avatar allows)

Yeah, 20 may be alright, but what about 10 from each server? 125 in one place is more than you get in Coronet. A lot more.
