Ok this is so confusing I almost makes me laugh.

I was reading how lvl 4 shields produce the best "combat" droid. However got into a debate with a Master DE and he said you can max them out with lvl 3 shields. Well I refered him to this forum and Yaks guide and he went ahead and built one with the lvl 4 shields. We duel and his kicked mines butt... Mine had lvl 3 shields/His had the lvl 4. Both droids have the 40% resists...OK this makes sense correct? Oh I really mean his pet with lvl 4 shields kicks my pet with lvl 3 shileds butt... is not even close I take about 1/8 damage out of his and he takes 3/4 damage out of mine.

So I find someone to get me 600 units of duralloy steel which has not been on our server for about 6 weeks to 2 months and make up some lvl 4 shields and sell one of my droids. I am so proud and go to show off the difference to the customer between lvl 3 shields and lvl 4 and duel the droids and they battle even. DUH!

Ok so now I have to do some testing... So I contact my Master DE friend and ask him exactly what he had put in his droid and make one identicial and head to Theed to re-do our pet duel. Ok his pet named Summer kicks my pets butt again (the one with the lvl 3 shields). Now I pull out one that is identical to his and we duel and they are even. This once again makes sense.

Ok next step now I transfer my pet with the lvl 3 shields to a friend and we duel with my other pet that has lvl 4 shields and they fight even. ?????? why

This makes NO sense to me at all ... and I would say if I personally read this that I was full of BS. However I can can prove this if any developer wants to see the pets duel.

You were battling against a prenerf bot, which is undistinguishable from the new ones, unless you hover the mouse over its HAM bar and see it's 3200 instead of 800 HAM

NO the droid the Master DE had was made 3 or 4 days ago. Even if it was one of the pre nurfed with the high ham why did the droid I made with lvl 4 shields that I made yesterday stand up 2 it?

Most likely he has a post nerf one also, he probably switched the droids when you were not looking. Tell him you figued out whats going on and want to redo the dule, then hover the cursor to see how much ham he has on his probot, I am sure if he beats you by any signifigant amount, you will see its a 3000 ham probot.

(Of course he could be reading this at the same time you are and be wise to the whole thing already)

Again NO I am sure he did not switch them. I watched his droid the whole time. After he kicked the adv probot droid I had with lvl 3 shields there was damage to his. When I pulled out my adv probot with lvl 4 shields and we duel again his still had the same amount of damage.

PS Why is it I read all over that the adv probot is maxed with 2 lvl 4 shields that give 40% resists and a rating of medium armor and I can make a adv probot with 2lvl 3 shields that has the identical stats? Does or is lvl 4 really better than the lvl 3 that give the same stats?

Laaba, funny that other people think I switch to a pre nerf or pre patch probot, lmao.

why would I do that when i as a Mster DE try to figure this armor thing out anyway. lol

anyway thanks again for the info for the lvl 4 armor, now everyone in my guild and hunting trip just love Summer so much. I wish we will get some duralloy steel soon so everyone can share the join of a better probot.

Nitro, since you have confirmed that your probot is not a prenerf, how is it you made him so that he takes so little damage? Did you experiment? Did you use high quality materials? What is it that you did that would make one probot so much better than another?

We all would really like to know the answer to this one. Can anyone else that is reading this post recreate these events? Is it possible you used a lvl6 armor module? There has to be a reason why one probot is so dominate over another.

I asked Nitro the same question, he told me he put 2 storage modules in it and did NOT use his good resources to make it.

Someone please test this as our server has not had duralloy steel in a couple months and thus I cannot. Make a adv probot with 2 lvl 3 armor modules and then make another with 2 lvl 4 armor modules. You will find both have the medium armor and 40% resists to all. Duel them (of course you need to transfer one to a friend) and see if there is a difference.

I asked Nitro the same question, his response was he did NOT use his good resources and he put 2 storage moduels in it.

Due to the fact that we don't have any duralloy steel on our server and have not had in about 2 months would someone please test this. Make 2 identical adv probot droids one with 2 lvl 3 armor modules and one with 2 lvl 4 armor modules. When finished you will see both have 40% resist to all and are rated medium armor. Now pass one along to a friend and duel them. Let us know if you see a difference.

I remember two level 3 armor plates making 25% medium armor instead of 40% medium.. has that changed? I just check my old probot.. (that I use since even at 40% they still tend to get kicked around pretty bad after a mission or to.) and it is still 25%.. thats the best I was able to make before duralloy showed up on my server.

I actually just did a whole batch of armor testing the other day and it's true, any pair of armor from level 3 to level 6 shows the rating as Medium/40%.

Maybe with the above info we're seeing that the rating is showing up incorrect on the stacked level 3's? If I get a chance I'll try to test this out.

My test results are as follows:

1 Module 2 Modules

Armor 1 - Light/15% Light/24%
Armor 2 - Light/24% Medium/15%
Armor 3 - Light/40% Medium/40%
Armor 4 - Medium/15% Medium/40%
Armor 5 - Medium/25% Medium/40% ***
Armor 6 - Medium/40% Medium/40%

I didn't do a new test with the one level 5 since I had done that a while back, but I guess I should do a new one for completeness sake

Thank you Ockale, I have done the same as you with the same results you posted. What I have not done up till now is put these two droids against each other because I have not had too much free time of late.

Do you have someone you can transfer that droid to and let them battle to see if the damage in the end is the same? You might be on to something about the armor being reported incorrectly.

If I get time this weekend I will try this out myself.
