Thread: I'm gonna miss being a DE

Most of you don't know me, I've always been a pretty quiet DE, but I've finally had enough.
When I first heard about an SWG MMO, all I wanted to do was be a Wookiee Droid Designer (back before beta there were supposed to be Designers, Manufacurers, and Shop Owners, all different skill sets).
It probably took me longer than most to reach Master DE, as SWG was my first MMO and had no idea what "grinding" was. Every time I crafted it was to make something I needed or someone else needed. A medium house was going for 50k and I had no idea how ANYONE could afford that much.
Will the help of an armorsmith named Ashter (you'll always be my hero 
) who took pity on a "noob" crafter, I became a DE.

When I first started my little shop on Talus two years ago, I learned the only droids that really sold were medical droids, storage droids and some probots. Now two years, a profession "revamp" and numerous patches later, the droids I commonly sell today: Medical Droids, Storage Droids, and probots are borked if you put them on a vendor. Yeah that's progress.
So I'm out. Good luck to those with a higher tolerance than me (and I thought I had A LOT) I'll be a DE until I grind Architect (to get more Elite Respec points) and respc out. Rasal come see me in game, I have TONS of parts and a lot of high quality resources you can have. Not that quality matterws anymore since what little we had hasbeen taken out of the DE profession, but they're yours.

Aricuk?!? Nooooo! Don't leave me! I know so few old timer DE's on our server! First Cameo, now you! A sad day indeed. /cry

Another one bites the dust
Safe Travels, though I don't know you, and I certainly can't blame you......this DE life is not what it was meant to be, thats for sure.

Well, I just recently dropped DE as well. Previously I was Master Artisan, Master DE, Master Shipwright, leftovers on Merchant. However since I was tired of getting killed by the crazed durni's and noxious vrelts outside my factory all the time, I used the CU respec to go to TKA Master, and Master SW with a CL54. Since I'm also a pilot, I decided to keep SW and drop DE since I was making a lot more ship parts than droids.

Yeah i have not used my DE other than ship stuff in a long time.

Aww, on the plus side, Niner, you can consider the +16 DE Exp belt I loaned you a gift.

Ditto, good luck with your new profs, i tried Archy, WS, TKA and several others a year back still keeping my DE. Bu this last set of changes specifically CU were to much to stomach.

I'm out too....just cancelled my main acct. Just one combat dude left, and he's quickly running out of things to do.
It's pretty sad that after 2 focused publishes and 2 years, Droid Engineers are worse off than when they started.
