Thread: Beta NDA is lifted (or will be soon)

So, anything in it for DEs? Or crafters in general?
i havent seen anything for crafters at all. they added in several droids as decoration, and several broken droid related loot items. The only craftable item i have heard of is the SWmark 5 reactor that has worse stats than a normal mark 5 reactor.
so my opinion is that if your a crafter/entertainer the only reason to get this expantion is to get the rewards.
There's art for NPC BLLs with guns. There is the "old" BLL that has guns in pace of its pan-cake flipper and a new lime greenish BLL droid that also has guns. Neither are craftable.
There is new droid loot drops, but everything I have seen uses old art instead of new art.
There are a number of new NPCdroids, both combat and non-combat, none are craftable (as far as anyone knows) and some new lootable droid parts (for decoration).
So far very little content for non-combat/crafter players has been located.
However, there are something like 20+ schematics some place, or so we've been told.

Everything's pretty much already been said in this thread, so there's not much more for me to add in. Supposedly there are more schematics and quests that non-combatants can do, but people haven't found them (or they're not implemented) yet.
You have to bare in mind that quests for non-combat profs are going to be very limited. You can't fight anything, so the quests have to assume that and it'll just end up being talking or riddling or something. It's never going to be very exciting is it? Hopefully the items will get added, as that is really the 'meat' for non-combatants : schems toolsand props.

I hope this isn't what the Dev's meant when they said this expansion was for "everyone"? I just got my beta invite and ran a few missions, and i have to say i'm extremely disappointed in the content for crafters and non-combat types, which I guess is nothing new anymoreThis won't be on my hard drive come launch time, that is for sure.

Does crafter content have to be riddles etc?I dont know about you guys but one of my favourite hobbies is resource finding, and stat capping. What about expansions where we need to track down resource spots, these could be as random and shifting as the hero of tatooine quest locations, we get the scheme by talking to a npc then find the super resources necesary to complete the schematic etc, perhaps the resources could be super stats for other items and only hand harvestable so after the difficulty of finding an ever moving resource we have a choice between building the new content item and selling \ using, or making something else amazingly better than we normally could have? How about for a DE a scheme for a detonation module rated 15, and the gas we get have to find is rated 1000 OQ 1000 PE? Would make sense with mustafa being a mining type planet,Or how about a npc who will give you a scheme if you give him x,y,z components of a specific quality, Perhaps random components from those available to the profession to whom the scheme belongs, so the crafter turns up with all his best resources and inspiration buff, and a crafting droid. Put a time limit on the quest to stop people going and buying the components etc.I know its too late for this expansion but its an idea and would make for real crafter contentMessage Edited by DTQ on 10-11-2005 02:25 PM
That's some great brainstorming! /hatoff
So maybe a thread where we can do some more brainstorming like this might be in order. It's too late for Lava Planet, but this is a perfect example of how to make engaging and relevant quests for low level crafters.
