When I first heard of SWG... must've been four years ago, now... Droid Engineer was the first thing I wanted to be. When I actually got the game I got a bit annoyed with the crafting grind and ended up becoming more combat-oriented... I've been DE forhalf a yearnow, and it's just great. Wish I had done it earlier!

Who knows, we might even get a revamp... and we'll be selling useful things instead of just pretty and customizable!

Even though we're borked to heck, it's still fun as heck to make droids. I mean, who doesn't want to be able to craft things to the likeness of R2-D2 or C-3PO. Well, OK, that's not why I respec'd to DE... I originally respec'd to DE 'cause my guild didn't have a DE--But I'm really loving it. I enjoy the fair amount of flexibility the chassis, modules, and colors allow. Just the other d--OK, it was last week, but that's irrelevant-- AAnyways, I made a black and blue (guild colors) R2 Astromech with storage for a guildee, and I love naming 'em. I think I named it "Iko's Li'l Buddy" (NOT kinky at all). I believe his probot was named "Iko-Bot 3000"

Anyways, I love DE and I just wanted to say that. It's some of the most fun I've had in-game in a long while.

Hehe, same here .. regardless of which character I have logged in the guildies all ask the same questions ... have you got so and so droid available .. whenever you can can you make me a droid to do this and this...

Been playing DE from day 1 on my DE account. First few months were touch and go while I gathered resources and waited for sales to roll in .. had a few days of pondering whether the profession was going anywhere but eventually respeced some other skills around and didnt respec DE away.

One day crafting will work as you would expect but until then Ill make do with what we have.

It's still fun as heck to make droids IMO, even if they didn't DO anything, seeing a droid deed with your name on it is cool.

The only part I dislike is the waiting and waiting for your factories to produce needed components/sub-components. Actually, that reminds me, I have to use the schems for GP and Memory modules I have left in my DP. lol

Droids do kick butt! Well up to about CL35 by themselves that is. lol Although when you take into account what they 'can' do... nothing else compares! There are no CL1 players in this game, that is if they are smart. All players should be at least CL31 with their metal buddy helping them out. Can you say that about ANY other crafted product? Nothing compares to a droids help,IF you look in the right place! Contrary to popular belief they *do* even help out CL80 players. They can hit for about 100 damage every couple seconds, they can REALLY increase your own heals, throw a trap for you without you losing a shot & they can auto repair themselves and other droids close by... and that my friends is 1 supercrafted product! Nothing else does compare! Sure they 'could' be more useful, but they are useful as they are.

It is good to seeother DEs enjoying this profession. Heck I love it! I knew I was gonna be an MDE the day I created my first toon and have been ever since. We can get frustrated sometimes by the bugs we have, but it is all still good. Frustrations come and go, but droids will always be here. Heck they don't decay at all! lol Well that one can be frustrating too since Every Thing Else Decays. It also can get frustrating when other DEs don't see the power and usefulness of their own product. That's why it is a breath of fresh air to hearDEs love ofbeing a DE.

We should all love it! We make the best and most Star Warsy stuff in this game! We carry on the tradition of Star Wars like no other crafter can!

Oh you know if you are hand crafting droids and your factory run of motives, brains, or whatever isn't done yet, you can still right click on 'options' on the factory and pull out crates. That is if your not going to throw them right back in to make another subcomponent. Just don't right click on 'stop manufacturing objects'! I didn't know this until somebody else mentioned it a few months back.

If I hand-craft, the only thing that comes outa a factory is the sub-components.

I admit I loved DE for like the first 3 weeks but after awhile it gets a little tiring, I don't fully stock my vendor with droids just the seekers and arykds, but I do enjoy doing some custom orders, even though it doesn't exactly earn as much money as the other crafting professions
