Thread: Customer Request for Doctors

Let me apologize in advance if this sounds like I am complaining. The last two times I got buffs, the advertised duration was not for all the buffs. On the first buff, all stats were buffed to last for 3.5 hours; except for two which were 2 hours and 45 minutes. On the second buff, all buffs again were for 3.5 hours, except for one which was 2 hours. Both sets of buffs were from different Docs and both were Master Doctors. Both advertised that their buffs were for 3.5 hours. I am not saying that their buffs were useless, but I paid 15k for buffs to last 3.5 hours. If the duration was a few minutes difference it would fine, but 45 minutes to an hour difference, makes it a big deal. Also the short duration times had nothing to do with bivoli, as the Docs both said that the durations were correct.

If your buffs are all 3.5 hours, except for one which is dramatically less; then please don't state that your buffs are for 3.5 hours. Those two doctors will not be getting my business again, nor will any other doctor that I find that does this. Also please try to arrange it sothat your buff times (for all stats) are approximately the same.

Thank you for your time.

2hr45min is common for crap resources but the 3hr50min takes some damn good resources. pimpin aint easy and nor is making packs all with 3hr50min durations. maybe the guy ran out of a specific pack while buffing you. i agree its bad business, but it could have happened. still, a lot of times with the avian available, its either high power shorter duration or low power high duration. most avian likes to spawn with low dr or high dr and low pe or something.

Any doc who makes most of their money from buffing would not do this-for exactly the reason you've show by your reaction. It doesn't matter if most of the stats were 3.5 hours....your buffs were really 2.5 or 2 hours long....of course the severity of that depends to some extend on which stat was short.

If I ran short of packs during a session and subsituted a lesser pack I would tell the customer and probably reduce their buff fee...but that's just me.

While it could have happened as you said, but it didn't. I understand completely about the resources and making buffpacksare not easy, but it would it be soeasy to inform the customer ahead of time that one or two buffs have dramatically different durations. When I asked about the difference, the response was basically "Yeah, that's how long it should be. Why?" Both Doctors that buffed me did this and both responded the same way.

It doesn't just hurt their business, but it does reflect upon all Doctors; making the customer not trust them. While this doesn't mean I won't be paying Doctors for buffs in the future, I just thought maybe a little truth in advertising would be prudent.

Indicting the profession because of these two Docs might be jumping to conclusions. That's like saying that "my neighbors are bad, so the rest of the town must suck." What these docs did is not the norm...and you're right-they should be telling the truth about what product they're delivering when they deliver the service.

Part of this, though, is buyer diligence. Caveat Emptor strikes again-if you don't know the doc buffing and you're looking for something specific in the buff service, ask a couple of questions before they deliver the buff. I don't buy products in game from folks I don't know if I can't ascertain the quality of the product I'm getting...and I don't make assumptions that everyone delivers the same product in the same way.

Every once in a blue moon one of my alts needs a buff and it's not convenient to get them back to my Doc toon, so before I have some doc I don't know buff the alt, I ask these questions:

  • What's the base on the packs?

  • What's the duration?

  • Are the packs matched?

If I don't like the answers to those questions, I move on.

lol yeah, I am in the process of separating my characters, one all combat, and one crafter (obviously the doc)... more often times then not I am too lazy to get my doc on for JUST a buff, because it takes like 6 minutes for the 2nd client to load and get running, and then the horrid lag between them, i always ask what stats are.

anyways to the original post, it's not a pack error, it's a buyer error. duration is not subject to change for any reason by clothing mods, BF, foods, etc... just power. so whomever bought the packs probably didn't buy identical packs... sure there are other possibilities but i would say its a safe assumption
