with the system changing, and having read some of the planned changes, do you think ppl will still gather for our buffs? specials on timers, no more killing yourself to do the specials, and encumbrance will not look at your buffed stats. will buffing secondaries become a luxury i wonder. also spices are supposely being balanced out with the other buffs, our buffs and food buffs. so maybe ppl wont even care enough to sit and wait to find a doc and just go with their crate of food and spice. something to think about.

Maybe food buffs etc wont have the same duration as those given from doctors, just similair stats.

Buffs will probably always be in demand if for no other reason the a person feeling more "ubar". I wouldn't worry about it. And if buffs do die (which I doubt), then Docs can be known for there title, as it should be.

First of all, I do not think we should start speculating so soon that buffs will die. We as a community are atleast 99.999% sure buffs WILL change. We do not know if this will affect sales or what not, but the cold hard truth, is that they will be changing.

Second, The CU is still several months away, so we shouldn't even worry about it until we see the patch notes on TC. And even after its on TC it will probably be another month before it hits live, because it will affect so much of the game. I am looking forward to the CU personally. I am looking forward to watching people use ranged combat again. Everyone now is either a melee proffession or Commando it seems because ranged combat is at a disadvantage.

I have a different view of this-I started crafting and selling meds before buffs became such a major piece of the medical business. Once buffs started taking hold, the regular med business dropped off for a while..until people start soloing elite NPC's that did more damage and required stims and states to be used in combat even with medical and food buffs.

If--and we're all doing the pre-Chicken Little panic dance by speculating now--buffs were to be greatly de-emphasized, other aspects of the medical business will most likely become more important. Sure, you can't make Gatesian wealth quickly with stuff other then buffs, but there's money to be made there-my business is proof of that.

I highly doubt that buffs will die. If anything they will be balanced out.

Even if for example; buffs are reduced to a max 500+/- it will still be better then just normal stats, even if its just to use armor, or last that extra 10-15 seconds.

It really depends on how the game is going to change. We all know that groups are going to be needed for anything remotely interesting. If your in a good group that is even remotely organized, you probably wont need buffs to play anymore.

It really depends on what changes and how people react to those changes. I highly *highly* doubt buffs will loose there importance though. They may lose strength, but people will still by them.

I do think the role of Doctor will be changing regardless. Hopefully we will actually be used for healing, reviving, state curing, and anything else that we currently aren't using to the fullest. My hopes are that all the Medics (doc, medic, and CM) will be used for the greater good of the group not just some little buff bots.

I think the CU is more likely going to help out the newcomers (and balance out the combat professions, *wink* pistoleers). Current masters and pvp'ers will still want buffs to take out high end npc's (which I heard were gonna get tougher), and each other. So buffs will still be good...if docs keep charging the same price then nothing will change.
