It does for me. When I make them with the usaly stuff I get about 7-10% (using all high end organic and inorganic) when I make them with radioactive mid range, I get 16%-20% on stats (mostly power)

And if you use AdvBECs pumped for charges (shame on you if you used experimentation points in power) then the gimpness of having no UT is lessened.

According to some experimentation folks have done around here, if you have two resources that have a used Stat, such as PE in this case, it will AVERAGE out the the two to determing the fil PE value used.

So if you are using a very high PE organic, and a very low PE Radioactive, the radioactive buys you nothing.

Conversely if you are using a low PE organic and a high PE Radioactive, the Radioactive can improve your results.

If only 1 resource has a given attribute, no averaging is done, it simply uses that stat.

So as long as you have an acceptable PE organic, you are probably better off using an Inorganic with a UT ratng.

Of course none of that applies in the case of certain components. For example I recenly made a batch of regular CRDMs. For the Organic I was using a 998 OQ/PE organic (pretty good stuff, eh?) CRDMs only care about OQ and PE, sinc ethey don't use charges at all. So for the best results here (998 PE already being pretty darned good) you would make sure you used a chemical that did not have a PE rating (why bring that 998 down?) and that, in this case, had an OQ of 1000. This yielded a CRDM with a power of 19, leading me to believe that if I had an organic with a 1000 rating in both OQ and PE then I would have been able to make the highest possible regular CRDM with a power of 20 (that's after full experimentation, of course.)

So at any rate, check out your schematic and ralize that if it asks for something and none of the resources you want t use have that stat at all (such as no UT in your organic or your inorganic fo most meds) you'll gimp whatever that effects (charges, in this case). If there is only one of a stat amongst all the resources, it uses that one stat. If there are multiples of a stat across all the resources use, it will average those stats.

So just try to keep that in mind.

Here's a tip for you if you like using Radioactives (Or petro) in your stims...

Use Bones or Hides are your organic. That way you'll get the UT Bonus from your organic component.

Actually works pretty well....

I still prefer your standard High Q/PE greens/beans/fruit combined with a H Q/UT metal are the best for stims.

Is it just me or does Radio Active materials seem to make the best if not most uber inorganic substance to use for meds.

It has

potential energy
overall quality

two very important stats.

But dosn't it seem very odd that some of the best meds I use on my patients (like my 104 healing health pack) is made from hazordis raido active materials?

Logicly No it dosnt make sense. But I love it. I am just wonding what do you use for your inorganic if it calls for one ? I used to use water for the longest time (just because I had several K in reserve hehe). But for most the time I use Raido Active (I have serveral fusion generators)

People have had mixed results with Radioactive - I've heard it's very good but tried it myself without noticing much difference. One thing about Radiactive is that it has no Unit Toughness - which means the number of charges on meds made with it are gimped.

Thats a good point.

However so what if it dosnt have that many charges. You need the crafting exp anyways lol. I ALLWAYS have gone for more power. The more I can heal in one action the more exp I get. I can always make more meds in between my healing. Now if we were to talk combat ... thats a whole nother story. I guess It would be better to have more charges.. Or when making rez kits more charges are important also. But when it comes down to wounds, unless your pressed totaly for resources. The more power to you.

BUT I do notuse radio active materail in my cap fillers. A wound packs that do like 15 healing. Just for those poor saps who want to be 100% before they go out and only have 1 or 2 wounds hehe.

hmmmm interesting point..no toughness..
