This may seem basic to some, difficult to others, so let me explain simply.

I use this macro for following (combat healing mainly), and it helps alot. Basically what happens is you set one hotkey (F6 for me) to the macro, and when you hit it, it does /follow, when the key is pressed again, it issues /stopfollow. One key, no fumbling to stopfollowing, and you save yourself some space. The more savvy of you out there can extend this to other actions or even multi-stage hotkeys (from stand -> kneel -> sit ._ prone -> back to stand).

Without further ado:

Make a macro with the command /toggle_follow.
In the chat window type the following:
/alias follow_on /follow;/alias toggle_follow /follow_off
/alias follow_off /stopfollow;/alias toggle_follow /follow_on
/alias toggle_follow /follow_on

That's it. Yes you will get some alias spam in the chat window, but it's not a big deal - petition SOE to remove their debugging code.

For another example, this one stands/sits as a toggle:

Make a macro with the command /toggle_sit.
In the chat window type the following:
/alias sit_on /sit;/alias toggle_sit /sit_off
/alias sit_off /stand;/alias toggle_sit /sit_on
/alias toggle_sit /sit_on

Very nice. I've got an idea to use that for useing 1 button to swap on armor, then armor back off + cloths back on.

Hell I've gotten 4-5 good idea's to use this on to save space and time, now if only i could easily port all my settings from system to system. It's becoming alot of work in maintian 2 PC's with teh same macro setup

You could just copy the configuration file from one to another. I would have to look thru the file system and see where its put so I dont know off hand. I know in EQ it was named something like YourCharacterName.someExtension

I assumed there was some kind of config file, but I never actually looked. Mostly it's just annoying when I set up some nice macro's at home, then go to play on the laptop or another PC and don't remember that my setup is not going to be there until after I've logged in.

Because this toggle system uses aliases, it makes it really easy - look in the main SWG folder. There is a text file with the exact name of the alias (the text within the file is simply the alias).


Then you just make the macro on the other system, which is like one line of so.
