*puts on doctor hat*
Well, I do try to take the noobs under wing whenever possible, however anyone who threatens to report me for doing normal stuff (like you were) just gets this reply, "Don't worry, you'll get over it and someday you too will be a man." and then I /addignore them. (I sure wish the ignore list had comments like the friends list. I can't hardly remember who I ignored for being a dilhole and who I ignored just to get their spam out of my spacial window.)

*puts on jedi hat*
Shooting at me will get you an incap if I can possibly do it. Shooting me in the back will get you a DB to go along with it. I'm not a dark sider so I normally don't DB except for bounty hunters and backshooters.

I'm humbled by your patience and kindness. I loved the story tho, andI'm amazing - maybe shocked too - about how a new player can end up fighting a krayt.

I'm not a very patient person, and I do try to be kind to a certain degree but not to the degree you have been.

Maybe one day I will be able to write a story on how I have been kind, too.

If he's such a noob that he can't kill anything then how did he afford a good weapon, composite armor and 50K buffs? Also,I've never seen anyone on Flurry charge 20k for buffs much less 50k.

Ok - I had a thread on kindness a while back, and it seems to have ingrained itself in my head. I did something kind yesterday, eventhough I probably was within my rights to put this guy on the /ignore list. Read on, and you decide. Then, share your similar stories... things that are just too incredible to NOT be true.

My guild is a Ranger guild. We hunt for a living. Lately that has taken a hit because of the jedi-holo-grind. My guild also has a mandate to help jedi in need. Well, one jedi asked for our help in getting some pearls for a new lightsaber. We organized a krayt hunt and miracle of miracles, it was well attended. My group had 20 people in it, and as is usually the case in kraytville, there were assorted other groups and hangers-on.

So we're fighting a canyon dragon. Thick of battle, I'm hucking stims left and right, dragging people, /mindhealing em and sending back out into harms way. In addition, I'm stacking poisons (both mind and healt, AOE and singles). Nothing too serious, I didn't even need to break out a rez pack. About halfway through the fight, I notice that a jedi that had come to hunt with us (not the jedi that asked for help) has a bleed on. This is unusual, as krayts don't generally bother with bleeds. No worries, I run over and apply first aid. I also keep and eye on the jedi, in case more serious healing is warranted. I apply some stims, but not any more than usual for this size group, and the prey we were hunting. This happens about 5 more times.

Well, the krayt dies. I run over to heal yet another bleed on the jedi, and lo and behold someone is SHOOTING at the jedi! Not in our group, just one of the assorted people there. I target this person, to see what is going on, thinking maybe a Bounty Hunter had snuck in. Nope, just some guy, who happens to have *NO* mind left (I had applied mind AOE/Single shortly before the krayt died). The jedi whips out the saber and incaps him, then DB's. We all stand there wondering what the hell happened when *I* get a /tell from this guy. He's threatening to report us, complaining about losing his 50k buffs, etc. etc. Going on and on about how dishonorable the jedi was, you get the picture. I walk over, try and get him to /consent me, so we can talk, and he disappears, off into cloneland.

I don't think much more about it. He gets done loading from clone, and the /tells continue. I explain that my poisons were hucked at the krayt only, and he only would have caught an AOE effect if he attacked the jedi. I also explained how paranoid and jumpy most jedi are, and that any one I've seen attacked usually kills the person on sight (depending on strength and situation) or runs like hell. I explain that if a jedi under our "protection" is attacked, we will attack back and kill. I explain that even had the mind poison not been a mistake, that I would have poisoned him anyway if he fought the jedi.

Then comes the lunacy on my part (the rest was lunacy on his part). I get kind again!

I tell him to come back out, and I'll rebuff him free. I was gonna bank tip him the 50k (even though he's an idiot if he paid that much) but I (as most of us do or did before they fixed the scams) had all my credits in cash. I even talk a dancer into healing his mindwounds. I diagnose him, he's got over 200 health and action wounds, and well over 400 mind wounds, plus about 375 Battle Fatigue. I have to explain to him that the BF will drop the buffs and that even our dancer can't fix that in the field. I even helped him hunt the next batch of whatever he got aggressive with and dropped an AOE health on the dewbacks that swarmed him. He's got comp armor, a good weapon, and a decent creature - and he can't kill anything. I look at his professions, and what do you know - he's a NOOB!

I thought he was just an idiot, but no, there is a reason he's clueless. SO... I even stick around and teach him some things about hunting... Then the guild calls, krayt spotted, and I'm 1000m away when I start getting the "xxxxx has fallen incapacitated" system messages. Time to pop the swoop and beat feet.

But I continue to semi-tutor this guy through the night.I just couldn't believe a noob was in the krayt graveyard LEVELING! and taking on a jedi (although I think this was a mistake, he saw red and shot at it... I THINK)

Any of you run into this? Just thought you might enjoy the story - as I could only laugh at it in retrospect...

My guess is he bought credits on Ebay. I know several people who have. Doesn't make them any better able to play the game, just jump starts them into playing with better equipment.

I honestly think this guy was new, regardless of his equipment. No one could play as long as it would take to afford these toys and still be as clueles as this guy was.

And I, too, have never seen a buff at 50k. I would have tipped it to him anyway, just to shut him up...

How could he have attacked the Jedi anyway? You guys I suppose could have a tef for healing an overt of your faction. But how could a noob unless he was overt opposite faction attack a jedi? Suppose this noob could have had a TEF from running faction missions from a near by player city. Odd, anyway.

Jedi's get a TEF for using force powers (i.e. saber) in front of non-grouped players.

Ahh ok, never grouped with a Jedi before. That would mean that the noob was overt or TEF'd himself though right?

Nope. He could be covert without a TEF and the jedi would still appear red on his radar. As soon as the jedi uses his force powers in view of someone he can be attacked.
