2 many of the docs on eclipse server are being 2 competitive!!! if im selling a buff thats 60 pts lower than yours across the board..dont sell yours for less and tell others that mine suck!!! im not whining about it, i just pack up and go elsewhere or do missions but this kind of practice is childish!! i feel that 12k for a buff on dantooine (2500+ on all 6 with 3.25hrs) is fair due to the ticket price roundtrip to cornet (2600 credits)!! especially when almost everyone in cornet is charging 10k..think about it, you save them the time (20-30+ min) for the trip and the ticket costs!!! by not charging 12k on dant your only ripping yourself off...i do however feel that 10k is fair in cornet as its a major commerce area..what im saying is just because there are a lot of docs in a city doesnt mean that you have to drop your prices through the floor!!! just charge the same as everyone else and share the wealth (there are plenty of players to go around) who wants to waste expensive bivoli waiting for customers anyway..

heres what i charge on a planetary basis (2500+ 3.25hr duration):

correll 10k

tatooine 10k (lotsa noobs)

naboo 10k

any other 12k (high paying missions and lotsa experienced players)+(high ticket prices for offworld travel)

how bout your prices please post

I charge 6k everywhere, all the time, and I still pull a 60% profit. 1k/stat seems like a nice round number even if I do know that it's somewhat overpriced.

When people ask how powerful my buffs are, I tell them 2k enhance for 3 hours 20 mins (and actually they are a bit higher on both those numbers). I simply refuse to get caught up in a pissing contest over a few points here or there.

Whether it's buffs or laser rifles - a few points one way or the other just isn't worth worrying about.

Unions enforce mediocrity, in game and in life.

The function of a union is to eliminate competition, therefore becoming the "only game in town". This is great for the union members, who have no incentive to be innovative or even particularly attentive to their respective jobs. It is bad for everyone else, who gets a lesser product at a higher price.

Not to mention, there are any number of doctors (like me, for example) who will never join a union. On the rare occasions that I buff the public, I charge what I want to charge, depending on the situation.

Your idea will not work because only a small percentage of doctors will sign on. Most will just ignore you and do what they want, rendering your union pointless.

Witness the now famous "doctor's union" that's been the subject of hot debate on the boards. They are a punchline now, rather than a market controlling force, for that very reason.

Yea, reminds me of being a CH when mounts first came out. I got invited to join a price fixing scam which really irritated me.

I wasn't even planning on selling pets on mount day, but the scammers pissed me off so bad I put my title on and sold mounts anyway. You know what I charged?

15k - 10k for the saddle, and 5k for the really sh*tty pet.

And all the while the scammers were trying to get a million each for the stupid things.

Screw that.

make no mistake..im a independant contractor and i know how unions work, as im not in one...as in real life there are instances where unions are needed (ie. cable tv contracting) for instance... when your one of a few elite contract companies in a metro area (dallas/fort worth) and these pissant / fly-by-night companies come into town and lowball the contracts, cost you your buisness..then there out the door when theyve made there mil and wrecked that particular buisness economy for the ones who are in it for the long run!! this is what im talkin about (these kind of docs, you know, the ones that think ONLY of quick easy cash)...on eclipse server i RARELY see any1 buffing for less than 10k...sometimes 8k, but they only buff for like 1800-1900 per stat... i do buffs because i like to, but i also like money!! im just saying that lowballers only hurt the docs that do great buffs and plan on doing it for an extended period of time..besides, whats wrong with charging 10-12k? its only 1 mission on dantooine (and most planets)..

not reasonable?

Making a SIXTY PERCENT PROFIT is NOT lowballing.

If I can make a 60% profit while buying buffpacks instead of making them, then I KNOW that that I'm overcharging even at 6k/buff.

And if someone is selling buffs for double what I charge, then they aren't just overcharging, they are RIPPING OFF. And yes, rip offs ARE unreasonable.

LMAO 10K for over three hours of buffs is a bargain. I've long since suggested that buffs shoudl cost even more. On my server 10K is the sweet spot. If someone undercuts me...oh well. Let them, more power to them. I'll still get business.

It's not about undercutting. I don't undercut anyone, because I don't set my price based on what anyone else charges. When I decide what I will charge, I don't even bother to think about what you charge. It's not part of my decision.

I charge 1k/stat and I know that's too high as it is, because I know that my profit margin is too high. In the real world a 20% profit margin is respectable, and 30% is outstanding.

And I make a 60% profit in-game.

Now, does anyone wonder why the "player driven economy" in this game is completely screwed up? Simple - the players the drive it have screwed it up.

I'll continue to charge 6k/buff even if my costs go up. I will do that until my profit drops below 30%, then I'll raise my prices. I will do that regardless of what anyone else does, thinks or charges.

If my prices happen to undercut yours, then truthfully, I have no sympathy because I -know- how much profit is being made.

There has to be something siad about the time it takes to grind your profession, harvest the good materials, etc.

I personally don't complain when a Master Gunfighter can make 100k in ancouple of hoursusing my buffs.

Lol. Funny I read this now.

I was buffing in Theed, charging 12k for close to 2600 stats for 3.25 hours. There was another Doc, across the area from me (I would say about 200m) charging 10k for 2500 stats for 3.5 hours. He got mad and left because I was getting more business. I want to make money. I do not care what others think of my prices. If they don't like it, find another Doc. I had one guy running around me yelling that I was a ripoff and he would not pay a dime more that 10k. Just to see what would happen, I told him I would buff him for 10.5k. He refused and kept on rambling on. Finally, some people in my line got annoyed and told him to find another Doc then. A few even challenged him to a duel, to no avail. He finally left, and so did the other Doc. So there I was all alone on Theed charging 12k for buffs, and the whole time I was there, I never had a line of less than five people.

I will charge what I feel like charging, and if people don't like it, go find somewhere else to get buffed.

So as a matter of fact that most people on Infinirty combine MasterTKA (Master Swordsman)with Master Doc and they most time only buff them self for high money mission runs there is lot space for docs. We hadnt yet any avian that made 2500+ 3h25 possible.

As the statleader with yet 2400 and 3hI charge 10k everywhere. Thats my limit andI would charge that on every planet (emergency callers pay my ticket extra). Most docs charge 8k here and shout against 10k chargers but most time also havent the best material so I relax as price and quality leader. A union was tried on the server with a stat-price-realtion rule, but well u always have blacksheep around
