All of us here have a life,sometimes we get a call and we have to leave the computer or anything happens,maybe we get tired,but what's our problem you just got buffs or you still have an hour left on buffs,well I sugest why don't buffs last certain time(Buffs are 3 hours for example) so I play 2 hrs,and have 1 hr left,have to log,the hour passes in RL and I lose my buffs,but why don't we log back on and still have the hour left,make it play time,not real time.

i imagine that would make my wife happy, you should see the looks i get when she hears "ill do it later, i still have an hour left on my buffs"
im still nurotic about wasteing buffs even as a master doc lol.

OK then say SOE decide to do this then personally I'd think it would be fair that if you've logged off then any havestors you have running stop harvesting untill you log back on and any factories you have stop producing till you log back on.
SWG is a continuous world and doesn't come to a stop when one person logs. Yes sometimes you get buffed and then something comes up and you have to leave, but thats just one of those things. Many times I've just been buffed up, by my own doc admittedly but the buffs still cost credits to make, and the server dishes out a 15 min till server shutdown message that I had no idea was coming.
Sorry but I think this would be a bad idea.

SWG is the first mmo that i have played that your buffs continue after log off. EQ that was a huge tactic to raids was everyone show up several hours get buffed and log till the raid. Which really suprised me that buffs go on rl time and overt time goes of game time.

After spending countless hours recently in the geno caves, I can tell you firsthand this is a bad idea. Someone could die in the caves, buff up, run to Acklay, log off, then just keep logging back on for the 5-10 minute fight every 2 hours. You could apply this to every other hourly or semi-hourly spawning enemy in the game.
Doc buffs wearing out makes you rely even more on the community to help you. That, it seems, is the ultimate goal of SWG.

Though SWG is the only mmo i know of where buffs last after you log off (besides in daoc, but only for the buffer). swg is also the only mmo i know of where buffs cost you money and or resources to make.

Well I too thought that buffs disappearing on log off was a bad thing, but with the geo cave example it just makes sense.
