Ok before the flames come in let me say i quit 5 months ago and recenlty came back.Had a good spell as a weaponsmith but wanted to try something new and doctor was what i started with when the game came out and might try it again.

It is NOT a holocron grind(my last holo asked for CH).

However i would like to get to master doctor as fast as possible and start having fun.

I checked the FAQ and did really see a good guide for grinding.

So question is whats the best way to get to master doctor.

thanks in advance for the advise.

Well im a BH so technically i shouldnt be in this forum ... i was just browsing and for some reason, i clicked Doctor... but i feel i may be able to give a few tips as i have been playing a while and kinda know a little bit (also, i did CM as my third holocron.).

Basically, there are 4 trees in doc. 3 of them are made up from medical experience (healing people, and the like) and the 4th is made up from crafting experience (crafting stuff ) . This is the same with medic too.

I will assume you are stating from Novice Medic. Ill go thru the crafting first. Get yourself a good crafting macro (there is a great one on the BE forum - ill get a link in a sec) and from novice medic to xxx4 simply sit and craft Biological Effect Controllers. These need 6 organic and 6 inorganic to craft, so nothing special there. Just sit with your macro and click away crafting.

Then for the healing, either join a hunt grp (sharnaffs if you arent so good at combat, or rancors if you think you can stand up to them while healing cos they will sometimes turn on you) or find someone to tumble for you. When they tumble, they lose action. You then heal them, and get the xp. Theres usually people doing this tumbling while afk in the cantina but id recommend finding a friend to do it as otherwise people will be healing the damage before you and you'll get less xp. Do this all the way to master medic.

To go from there to Doc, you just go the same again. Except at this point you'll need to craft Advanced Biological Effect Controllers (these require Tatooinian Fiberplast and Lokian Wild Wheat - alot of resource shops sell these items). As for the healing trees, just do the same as before - hunts or heal a tumbler for faster xp. Then when u'r master doc, prepare for hundreds of people wanting buffs every day

Hope it helps.

Thats the link for a good crafting macro. Bit complicated to set up if you dont know what you're doing but once you got it going its great. It basically runs, gives you time to put in your resources, then it does the other stages for you.

Give it a go. and good luck getting to Doc

Healing xp rates: (ifI remember right)

Wounds * 2.5 = Medical XP

Buffs * 0.5 = Medical XP

Damage * 0.25 = Medical XP

So wounds are by faryour best xp per heal. You get no xp for healing youself or using stims on pets. Did you do CH as your last prof?

This is kind of borderline on misusing the system by healing pets, but take it for what it's worth.

I found a good way to bank up wounds for xp was to take my pets to Endor. Find some Mantigrue Screechers. (Curse dropping CH when a baby spawns) and send in your pets. With the AoE Plague Strike, they should get wounded pretty quick. Let the disease tick as long as you can. Keep damage healed to keep them on their feet, and don't tap the lair until your diseases subside. Don't cure them.

You can also buff your pets for xp when you get the skill. Store and recall them to clear the buff(s) and reapply. It's slow, but it's better than trying to compete with others for a tumbler. Use action buffs to save on reactive gas and avian meat.

A good spot for finding player wounds is to stand at the spawn point for incoming starport travellers. In a place like Coronet, you have all manner of people coming home from Dantooine, Dathomir, Endor, and Yavin with a good supply of wounds. Pull out your droid, and hit them with heals before they even wake up from the trip.

The crafting macros are definately worth using. You can often find grind quality tat fiber and lok wheat at 2CPU or less. Set up like 6 tools and grind it out. Once you have Doc 0004, you craft as well as an MD, so you have your first market open. Get your factories going with the components you'll need when you get there for buffs now too.

I aimed for the rez skill right away. If you want to go hunting, groups love to have a doc that can rez. You can get into VH groups pretty easy on Dant, and will usually have plenty of players to heal/cure/rez.

Good luck.

My suggestion, at least for grinding out the crafting portions of Doc is to hand craft all of the advanced components for StimBs, and then hand craft StimBs, and put them up for sale on the bazaar on Adventure planets. I used to do this as my main source of income before buffs became such a huge commodity. I'd usually sell out in one or two days, and start again. Lots of money can be made.

As for getting actual medical XP, I'd suggest staying away from tumblemonkeys, and instead getting in with a group heading off to dangerous places, and healing them up. Usually, they are grateful for the company, and the healing. Although, this was easier to do before the buff craze as well. You can also hang out in busy cantinas, keeping entertainers healed.

Since you have done the Weaponsmith grind the Doc crafting part will bea sinch. My advice is to get a good macro like the others were refering to.

Now, if you really want to make master quickly, and I mean real quickly like a day or two, do this. First you'll need some credits. Go buy a clothing item from a tailor or bio-engineer that has +25 to injury/wound. Next, bivoli helps alot, you won't need alot and you can buy it off the bazaar. The norm I see is around +10which goes for alot cheaper than the +24 you can get with some searching. You'll have to find a Doc that sells med use 90 buffs. These aren'ttoo hard to locate really.Next, go to a Master Droid engineer and purchase a droid with 110% med rating. The droid you'll need for later, not to level because you can't buff your droid. And if your not a CH you can't pull a droid and pet at the same time.

If you don't have a pet you can pull, you'll need one of those too. Level 10 of course.

Now, healing tumblers is boring big time but it is the way to go initially. Take it to wound treatment 2. Next, you'll have to heal tumblers yet again all the way to Medicine Doc knowledge 4. So, this will give you the ability to heal enhance using 90 med knowledge.

Finally, for your last 6 boxes, bring your pet out, target it, and buff. Store, then repeat over and over. The xp will fly, and be sure to level wound 3 and 4 first as it will increase your buff amounts and xp while leveling.

Hope this helps.
