Only master Docs would be able to apply the vaccine and it will last untillog out.You would still have a 10% chance of being poisoned or diseased.

If the DEVS can't figure out a way to nerf CMsdirectly, this would be an excellent alternative.

What do you all think?

Also, even after being hit with a poison/disease, the vaccine will neutralize the ailment after one tick.

Maybe the resources for this vaccine will be extremely hard to find. So they dont yell "nerf the DOCs"

I like this, the only problem is that soon enough everyone will expect it and they won't pay more for them than for buffs currently (50% of the PvPers I have met, when in large groups, seem to take for granted that they can be buffed for free).

Yeah, alot of people would not want to pay for them. They would want them free just like the cheap bastards that invite me into a group to hunt and then expect free buffs. One guy ever said that it was my job to buff them for free because i was a doctor, only one person offered to pay for buffs so i gave them to him for free and refused to buff the rest.

A vacinne against CM attacks would be nice to see though

Why would we give them for free? We'll just charge from the very beggining. 10k for an hour orso

Maybe people expect buffs/cures for free because someone is doing it (guild doc). If they want it for free just dont' do it, and /addignore if they keep bugging you.

Tell you what... I'll give you this if you give me a combat medic med that can applied to other people that causes them not to be able to get healed (from self or from someone else). I'll be nice though and give a heal a 10% chance of working. And this med should last untilthe playerlogs off.

Seriously, I agree with your idea in principle, but sometimes I don't think people think about the numbers that they throw out. 10% chance of a bypass? Lasts indefinitely? Too powerful and last too long. Now, if you came in saying you wanted a vaccine that could only be applied by docs that added +50 to poison resistance and lasted for a half hour (or longer, though we're really talking about a PvP med, so a half hour should be fine), I would have left this post alone. +50 poison resistance is meaningful, particularly when added to the existing poison resistance food (which by itself is admittedly not terribly useful). And docs would still have the cure for when the resists don't work.

By the way, what are you really looking for here? By asking for something that nullifies CMs, you are also asking to decrease the need for a doctorduring PvP. Are you really just wanting someone to be able to take their doc alt and vaccinate everyone before PvP and then use their combat characters during PvP? Many docs (including myself) don't wish to be relegated to being a before combat necessity with no real role during combat.

Well, maybe that would be too long, but how about an hour? I mention 10% percent because thats the percentage of a hit even after the defense has been capped. For example if you have high defenses against KD and then eat some thatkillo, you will cap your defenses against KD, but even after being capped at 125+, you still have the remote chance (10%) of going down.

Why should it be any different with poisons?

And, no I dont have an alt, and when I PVP Im just not a supporting character, since I'm also a TKM. Maybe you didn't like the idea since it looks like you are a MD/MCM and that would make you sort of useless.

It's different because even if you only have a 10% chance of a knockdown, you can still dizzy, stun, blind, intimidate and most importantly do damage. Knockdown isn't halfthe profession for any of the combat professions. So yes, there are foods that effectively prevent knockdown, but that really only affects 10 to 20% of any classes abilities. Poison and disease is half of the combat medic profession (and a 169-skill point profession at that - 169 skill points which will buy you master TKA *and* master rifleman or any 2 of the 7 low-cost combat professions).

Just as importantly, with anti-knockdown food there is a trade-off. If I eat the food, I can't eat my synthsteak or canape or something else important to me in combat. Doctor cures have a heavy skill point trade-off. I have never had problems with defenses that have real trade-offs. There is no trade-off to the recipient of a vaccine. If there is no trade-off, it can't be a great defense.

Ok, PLEASE go read:
RFC: Active Biohazard Suit

I've spent quite a bit of time thinking about this issue - a complete vaccine that lasts for X amount of time is *far* too much of a nerf against CM's - it would effectively make the class useless, as everyone would be running around with vaccines and be completely immune to CM attacks. It's not gonna happen. But, if you read my proposal at the link above, I've *really* tried to come up with a solution that provides *some* defense against DOT's and other states, without being overpowering.

I don't know that it is the 'one true answer' but please consider it. I think it would be viewed by all as a more balanced approach to the problem of certain attacks (dizzy, poison, disease, fire, etc).
