hello. can anybody explain or direct me about mechanics of resistance buffs? just i made poison resist buff like 184 power and 30m long and trying to fight with peopla that have dot weapon. i dont see any different with and without buff... or all of this caused by low absorption (4-5)?

My understanding is that it does not work versus DOT weapons. At least so I have been told.

correct not against DOT weapons
IT DOES work with combat medic poisons and animals poisons.
Poison resistance was always questioned if it worked.
It does work, easy way to test it, have a friend poisonyou with a weak mind poison, look at the tick. lets say its 50 tick, equip a aakuan robe, the tick will decrease to lets say 40 then. have a doctor give you a poison resistance buff, it will go to like 20 lets say
They do work, it does not affect your chances of getting hit at all

Whoa, so its not a resistance check? Its a reduction in damage AFTER youve been hit? So a CM attacks you with a poison it doesnt matter that you have a high resis it still has the same chance of landing? Did I get that right?

He was just using an example.
I have noticed a dramatic drop in poisoned instances.
It stops me from getting poisoned 9 times out of ten from mobs.
And CM's i would like to know how strong ur poisons are, as no matter how high i get em you manage to get thru it, all be it reduced as guy explained above.
Im currently doing resist ones for 220+ but short lived at 18/20mins

Alot of the smart CM's are re-thinking the method of experimenting poisons. In the old days a 115 potency poison was enough to get the job done but it's not like that anymore. Minimum on alot of the CM's stuff I seen or discussed are now in the 150's and higher. Those 2 extra points a 12 point CM has definitely helps alot while crafting. The downside is that the range suffers pretty bad and the effectiveness will still take a hit.
If a CM keeps spamming poison on you eventually he'll get through the resist. The gap between the potency of the resist and poison isn't that big so it will eventually happen. They are still rooted while spamming poison though and make great targets to take down at leisure.
