Well most of the fixes now are things that won't be touched in the CB. I think its a very smart move by SOE.

I mean personally, I was getting bored with the game about 5 months ago.My game time was like once, maybe twice a week for like 10 minutes. Then I would play WC3 or some other game.

Now though, even if I'm doing the same thing (killing high end mobs, doing caves ETC), there is a reward involved. Even if it is only Credits. The chance to get "uber" loot is much greater then it has been ever. It's given me a far better reason to get out and do stuff that I was just like "ugg, do I have to" before.

The CB will be exactly that, fixing combat....while all the changes recently have been fixing things that have been broken, boring, or just not used since like day 1 of the game. SOE is doing a good job at making this game fun again; even if we can still solo 95% of the mobs. Atleast there is some type of reward, even if its not 100% of the time.

It also allows people that aren't "power gamers" a chance to get their hands in the loot table. I mean stuff that people would never see in there entire game time is now avalible for pretty much anyone that know's were to look.

This fix though (Crafting doesn't Crit fail), I have mixed feelings about. On one hand I'm like sweet, but on the other it's like great now there is no risk of failing. Nice fix, I really like it, but something about crafting and getting that heart pounding feeling right before you click Next....is gone now. And that is something I personally will miss.

Question on the crafting part: What do I need assembly tapes for now?

To help you get better assembles, which in turn help you get higher success rates. Have you ever noticed that on an amazing success you get 8% instead of 7% that you get on great successes? That's what assembly is for. Better the amazing success than the critical failure..

Just to make sure this is clear. Assembly tapes help your chances of getting an amazing success assembly role (all the experimentation bars start at a higher percentage). They do not affect experimentation rolls though. The experimentation tapes do that.

I always thought assembly only counts for the initial assembly and I also tought that experimentation results are not tied to the initial assembly roll. So 1% more on initial assembly gives 1% more in final result (on a line I dont max out with experimentation). Is that what you mean, also, or are you saying that the higher my initial assembly roll is the higher my experimentation percentage for great successes will be?

It is good to note though, that in my experience *every* time you get an amazing success on assembly, your first experiment will be good or less. Which is just stupid. And yes, I have kept track of all my med amazing success in the last 2 months or so, and *every* time after, I get crappy experiment.

Thats what I experienced, also. I havent kept track for that long, but every time I thought "hey - great initial assembly, even with only great successes the outcome will be better than average", I got disappointed by a less-than-great first experiment
