Thread: 4000 vs 0004

I'm just starting to play around with Doc again, post-CU, but my thoughts:


Infusion is amazingly handy - use it right before battle to delay needed healing. It reduces hate a lot, because you didn't heal during the fight, and you also need to use less heals.


Stims are, as I understand it, once per minute. If I'm primary healer, and I can only heal one person once each minute, no go. If everyone is healing themselves, and once per minute is enough, they need to be working harder.


If you're going to go the healer route, you need to be effective. If you're just using novice heals, you're probably better off putting the points somewhere else.


And if things go bad, and you only have novice doc healing, you might as well not be there, from what I've seen. Docs seem more of a crisis management/ramping up class now - you can take even levels one at a time without a doc just fine. When you want to do +5, or when 5 even levels come running, then you best have a 4xxx to keep you standing....


But more experience folk may have more info. I haven't really been a doc since Pre-CU. But I have played primary healers in several other MMORPGs, and that's a lot of what I'm basing my thoughts on.

im doc 4004 because:


i can heal my self and mates realy near to me.... only 10 m range is not great but for all other stuff we have a CM that should be better at this. But the self-healing is realy usefull, most of it the infusion (wish that this would be a bit more powerfull).


the buffs are of good need for myself, but in a group i only buff speed to others. to give them all buffs simply takes to long, needs to much mind ....and when they get to good i cant heal them and dont get xp

Speedbuff is REALY powerfull and the best thing ever on doc....makes us usefull for a group and not only a afk-buffing-maschine at coro.


i think the other two lanes (0440) are pritty useless in PvE (dont make much PvP). There is food against it and there are no strong poisons that you cant heal against them. They simply need to much mind and take to long to buff a group while doing a job.

if you realy wish to res you have to take them, but i think they are not worth it.

I keep seeing 4000 templats out there, but can't figure it out. Stims hit for like 1200+ even with no medic, aoe with novice doctor.

Why not 0004 Doc so you can buff up yourself and the group and keep healing them with aoe heals or single heals on the tank?

Well the first branch actually heals you and you know keeps you alive...while all the others do nothing well 0002 is ok for buffs but anything beyond that doc is a waste of skill points. If you want buffs and heal go 2002 works well enough for pve but I miss the infusion and healing efficiency too much.
