Thread: Regarding the new buffs...

Hi guys, sorry if this has been asked or discussed before (no doubt it has).

I recently respecced / grinded some of doc from my now obscelete alt (dancer / musician mind buff char) and was quite shocked to find out how 'bad' the health buffs are. I'm fairly sure the blue frogs on the TC in CU beta buffed for way more (although could be wrong?) and they were supposed to be the new doc level buffs...

I was a little ennoyed to find that using high quality meds cant resolve this (give the same result, therefore worthless!). Has there been any word from the devs on this? should we be getting better med packs anytime soon?

Currently, I haven't been wasting my time with buffing people - they seem to do just as well with or without buffs - they're just so low atm that they seem almost not worth it ... guess the 'over kill' nerf bat hit docs bad from a buffing point of view...

I have had fun with my template (Smuggler/doctor) but with buffs as bad as they are - I can't see a reason to keep doc for just healing, when i could take CM instead and get more offense...

TC buffs said "new doctor level buffs" but were in fact at least 3x as powerful. Im not commenting on that any further.

A doc health buff will always be 10% of the characters health at the time the buff is applied. Doc skill level and enhancer quality only increase the duration of this buff, which is not worth the cost IMHO.

Since a health buff takes the health at that time as base, I noticed using foods or drinks to increase health before applying the buff would increase the buff also. This does not work with the +2k health crystal from the village, unfortunately

So the health buff is close to useless...

...but:

+40 combat speed and action regen are godly for fighters, and mind regen is godly for healers, especially if you use food / drinks before applying them. The most usefull buff is the combat speed increase I think.

From the description of the skills at MD level, I'd say they are currently not working as intended.

well, i personally cant justify the skill points atm without any decent buffing abilities. I only restarted my alt on Tuesday, so I guess I'll go play with a Smuggler / Combat Medic template for the next few weeks and see if anything gets done about it...

Shame really, I really fancied Doctor...

If they'd just make our buffs last 3 hrs like the Ent inspiration buff, I'd have no complaints.

I dont think that being a doc is useless any more like some people are saying, I max out my med xp while hunting in a group and then go convert it to jedi skills on Dath. I m a Master Doctor and Master Swordsman so i can max both out and go convert them. I think the new doc buffs are ok to help your player last longer in a battle but they are nothing close to the pre-CU ones.
