If I were to make a totaly defensive Master DOC ( Field DOC ) what template am I looking at?

Cai'bek - Master Bounty Hunter / Master Combat Medic / Carbs 0400 / Imperial Ace (Inqusition SQ) Colonel (RET) / Smugglers Alliance ACE (Active)

All winnings / drops to Vendor:Near Jabbas Palace -6698 -5927.

To deliver you unharmed -relatively so- is the primary requirement for collecting the bounty that was posted on you. If you try starving yourself, you will be force-fed. I'm not known for being gentle about that sort of thing."

Master TKA/ Master doc/ 0400 or 0040 pikeman/ Ranged def 4 or melee def 4 in FS. With bacta infusion and Cob macro running you are hard to kill. Wearing your best BE clothes (when they eventually work) will be a plus in the future. Same with +100 ranged/def foods (when they work).

I put pikeman there just for the fun of spin attack but 0040 pikes gives you intimidation and warcry which, correct me if I'm wrong, delays action regen.

The ranged templates probably have higher ranged/melee def but that and armor but that is all they have. This melee template also has:

Innate TKA armor +60

melee def 180+4(FS)+ 25 (BE clothes)+ 100 (Vegeparsine)= 309

Ranged def 145+25 (BE Clothes)+ 100 (Pico Thunderbird)= 270

Unarmed Def +75

Cob

Intimidate

Very Hard to hit

Power Boost

Doc Buffs

BactaInfusion

I wish Respec was still around so you won't have to take my word for it but I played with this template and variations of it and in the end I settled with Pikeman 0400. As a rebel I like going to Dantooine imp outpost and wipe out all the npc imps with spin attack (level 27-32) with lasers glying all around. After that I go after the 2 CL 65 AT-STs. Very satisfying- especially for a supposedsupport character.

Does Master Smuggler, Doc 4034, CM 0401 makes any sens for you guys. I'm planning to be Crowd Control/Support pvp char

is the healing tree from CM better then healing tree from Doc.

I 'm staying Smuggler no matter what but the rest of my points I wouldn't mind using for CM/Doc.

Lack of double mastery means you won't be a level 80, probably level 75 max. Class level is everything in PvP because of damage multipliers. You don't have much defensive or offensive abilities yet you will agro everything in a group due to your powerful heals.

Most of the time your groupmates, if they are level 80 will have to stick by you to keep you alive. Being hit by 3-4 level 80 mobs, you go down very fast. Remember that npc/mob melee types also have a tendency to teleport close to you so your crowd control abilities are limited.

The best non-Jedipure defensive healer ( note that this includes very limited ability to kill things yourself ) I found during /respec was the following:

Master Doc

Master Combat Medic

Of course, you have to wear armor, and this combination means that you'll be going through armor. A lot of armor. Regularly. So, if you don't have an armor smith that will donate you new armor on a very regular basis -- or a nearly unlimited supply of money, I wouldn't recommend this combination.

My personal favorite, and one I stumbled onto at the very end of /respec, is as follows:

MDoc

MTK

MMedic ( yes, you heard me right ).

MTK will keep you alive -- and without armor -- through liberal use of Center of Being (Improved) and Bacta Infusion (Improved) as necessary. You have the best Bacta Shot ability in the game, plenty of buffs, Revive, Bacta Jab, and a surprisingly potent Bacta Spray from the medic tree ( mine currently does about 400 health per use ), for mass-healing as needed on the field of battle. I field-tested this combo at the Jedi village and can say it's an incredibly powerful healing template.

Damage dealing, though, is on the very low side. Don't expect to be killing anything quickly, since you have very few special moves to work with, and damage output unarmed doesn't even touch what a good ranged weapon can do.

If you want nearly as effective healing, but a bit more offensive firepower ( I'd probably recommend it as a better combination, although I don't use it myself any more ), I would look at:

MDoc

MTK

Medic 4440

Novice Swordsman

Most of the benefits of MDoc/MTK/MMedic, as a slightly lower healing efficiency, but adds in a bleed attack, head hit, and additional melee and ranged defense. Probably the most powerful of the three templates I've laid out IMO.

Dang, I've just about got myself talked into surrendering skill boxes and re-developing swordsman...

I'm not master of either (yet), but am doing well with a Doc/Pike combination. I play a Wookiee so am wearing the Wookiee battle armour which is doing a pretty good job of helping me to stay alive without any hindrances.

Corrected.

Class level means nothing in pvp there it just the amount of skills you have that determine the damage. A level 75 will have leass health than a level 80. But grouping with level 80 will make your damage modifiers equal to that of a level 80 so you will work in a group.

I woulg have to suggest MDoc/TKM/Swordsman 0130. Doc is the basis. TKM gives you the defensive edge to stay alive at minimum cost (no armour, accesss to BE clothes, etc.), and Swordsman gives you access to Mind Hit (for a little extra offensive punch), Area Taunt (your heals are going to produce aggro, you might as well embrace it), Sword Flurry for a little extra defense, and Advanced Armour Break, the life blood and saving grace of any group.

This gives you a very potent Healer/Support Tank that will vastly improve any group lucky enough to have you. Trust me on this. My personal template it MDoc/TKM/Swordsman 0110/a smattering of FS skills and last night I was able to virtually solo tank the Katarn (meaning I held aggro and took every iota of damage coming out of the beast) while a guildie hit it with a carbine and some pets. No small feat if I do say so myself.
