Thread: buffing the public

I have always maintained that buffing the public is not a hassle. I'm retracting that. I was buffing one of my guild mates, we happened to be in coronet, and I had one, count them one, buff pack set. I had Master Doctor up but I was NOT spamming my buffing macro and I had /afk up. The auto /reply message says, EXACTLY, "I am not buffing right now". Anyway I was sitting in coronet and I had hit his health and secondary for health and three people come up and tip me. Two by bank (one real one not but I don't know witch) and one from cash and they expected me to buff them. What do I do about that? In this case I had to get off because my dad was wanting the computer 10 minutes ago (his words) and I HAD to get off. So I did. But it made me feel bad, like I ripped them off. I WOULD have buffed them if I could but I had no buff packs. Undoubtedly I will have several mails raging at me to give them money back witch I plan on doing, but still, I didn't see their names, wasn't really paying attention, just trying to get my friend buffed and get off.

Don't sweat it at all. Just reply to whomever sent you the money when you get back on. Anyone who wants to be a jerk simply /ignore it.

Think about it this way: They were originally rude to you and just expected to be buffed without a word of greeting or asking about prices, power, etc. No thought was given to you and instead you were simply thought to be an automatic buff bot who would do their bidding regardless of your plans. If people can't even give you a "hello are you buffing" then you shouldn't feel bad in the least. Just get the money back and move on.

I have one for you...

The other day I was NOT buffing and just talking to a friend about some things right outside the Coronet starport. The area was completely packed with people waiting in line getting buffs from 1other doctor.

At some point my friend and Istarted talking about how much I normally charge for buffs when I do buff, and I replied "10k Buffs" as my answer to one of his questions. As soon as I pressed enter and looked up, I about crapped my pants. Now I am praying for a spammer to hurry with a spam so what I typed would hurry and scroll by.

It did not come fast enough though, because within 3 seconds of the time I pressed enter, this guy comes burst running over to where we were standing at, sits down andtips me 10k all before I had time totype a single letter.

Ihad to tell him I could not buff him because I did not have any packs onme at the time anyway. I also tipped him his money back and appolagized profusely because I felt sobad for him. I mean he was just awesome at getting there, sitting down and tipping me so fast...I just felt bad that I could not accomodate him.

I would not think twice about it. If they send you an email reply with the trueth. It is their falt, not yours.

They created the bad situation, not you.
