Hey Guys and Gals -

I crafted ABEC's (adv bio effect controllers) while working my way up the other 3 trees in doctor.

Founnd it suprizing that I actually made it to the 3rd crafting box - kind of a pleasant suprize.

I am now at 4/4/4/3 - only one box from master doc

The 4th box (Master Doctor Medicine Crafting) has got to be the single most boring thing I have ever worked on.

Needless to say I have not even attempted an elite crafting profession like weaponsmith or armorsmith.

I still have 30k medical crafting xp to go before I can claim my Master Doc title.

Any suggestions?

Should I continue to grind ABEC's?

Never really done a crafting macro - would it help much?

Any clue how long it will take to finish this box ?

Thanks

With a macro you could probably get it done in 2-3 hours (maybe less, it's been awhile). If you want to use one, check www.swgmedic.com. ABEC's are definitely your best bet, as long as you can get the wheat and plast. As for it being the most boring thing ever, have you ever done the grind from Unarmed 4 to Novice TKA?

Thanks for the tip ...

I have 10k wheat and fiberplast so I will try the macro.

As for your question .....

Professions I have Mastered (in random order):

Marksman

Scout

Brawler

Medic

Rifleman

HeavySwordsman

TKA

So ya I know the "grind" feeling - but at least combat grind is not playing with a crafter for hours on end

I didn't use a macro, but...

I got 5 crafting tools and had it timed that when I was done selecting the last tools crafting, the first one was finishing what it was crafting. I did it on practice mode for the extra % to crafting xp.

You could check SWGMEDICS.com like someone else suggested for legal and illegal crafting macros... I just preferred to do mine by hand, and only did this for the last 2 boxes in CM and last box in DOC. All my other crafting was from making stuff to sell or use personally.

And those 3 boxes took me a weekend - and I continued to play throughout that weekend. If you ONLY did the clicking, you could do it in one day tops.

I have to agree, crafting is one of the most boring types of gameplay. Course do you know any real life architects that are interesting??? Hehe. Elite grinding professions do indeed make you not want to play. I am currently doing Bio-engineer and there are three crafting trees with the fourth box on each requiring 80k crafting xp. Each of the item i craft gets me 100 or so xp. So it takes 800 crafts for me to do one of those boxes. Now I may not be using the best schematic but still it takes a while. One thing about the BE trees is that some of our stuff requires you to make medical supplies first and it gives you med xp instead of BE xp. I guess it is worth it though, the things you make in the elite professions are very much needed and give life to our galaxy. I just wish they would up the resources a bit. Used to be that you could find almost any resource, now it's barely available and if you don't harvest it yourself, then it costs loads of money to buy, i remember seeing dolovite iron going for 150cpu, too much in my opinion. If the resources in this game are gone in less than a year of gameplay, then I think something needs to be done. That is why a lot of hologrinders never go back to any crafting profession because the stuff they make is crap due to the lack of hq resources. Well that is my rant for today.

I agree that last box iIs really boring.

Get 6 crafting tools and use macros. You can do it in about 2 hours

I used the 5 crafting tool macro-driven method myself. I prefer the 5 tool method over the 6 tool method because the 5-tool method gives me about 10 seconds every two minutes to stretch. Got all 4 boxes done in one weekend of sporadic play.

My method:

1 shot bourbon.

Maco craft like all hell for the next 15-20 minutes in the glow of the bourbon. You'll be very relaxed and somewhat distracted.

Go outside and kill a few Tuskens to relieve residual stress (The tuskens attacking the jawa sandcrawler are in my back yard).

Repeat as necessary.

Worked like a charm for me.
